02-20-1934 Regular Meeting MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF
MIAMI SHOkES VILLAGE COUNCIL.
Feb. 20, 1934.
The regular monthly meeting of Miami Shores Village Council
was held at-the village offices at 7:30 P.M. on February 20th, 1934.
All members of the council were present as well as the village clerk
and village attorny. The minutes of the previous meeting were read
by the clerk end approved.
The village clerk was instructed to turn over at once to
the village attorney an estimate of money that would be required in
connection with application for Pubic Works Administration funds
for street improvements and the attorney was instructed to make such
application.
The attorney reported that process had been started on the
tax foreclosure suit and that this work was going ahead as rapidly as
possible, though some time would be required.
The question of right-of-wqy for Griffing Boulevard,
through a portion of lands owned by Albert I Wolfe was discussed.
Mr. Wolfe had proposed to grant such right-of-way if the village
would agree to exempt his whole tract from taxes. Upon motion of
Mr. Lindsey, seconded and passed this proposal was rejected.
In view of the fact that Mr. White, deputy marshall
was without a car to use when on duty, the clerk was instructed to
replace him with some man who had a car.
Written proposal of W. J. Cahil was presented in connection
with his request that the village condemn the property located on the
Northwest corner of N. E. tecond avenue and 96th Street. The village
ettort6y was instructed to write the owner of the property expressing
such possible intention on the part of the village before any
definite action be taken.
Upon Motion of Mr. Carlisle, seconded by Mr. Lindsey,
the eouncil agreed that the salary of Mr. Simmons, the marshall be
raised to $30.00 per week. It,

The village attorney was instructed to write Mrs . Edith
Meloy, at 341 N . E. r9 2nd Street and inform her of the village regulations
concerning the raising of dogs in the village .
The village attorney was also instructed to ascertain
what legal action could be taken to coerce the F. E. C . railroad
to install automatic traffic signals at the two railway crossings
in the village .
There being no further busines t come before the
meeting, it was adjourned.
