01-16-1934 Regular Meeting MINU'T'ES OF THE MEETING OF
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL.
Jan. 16, 1934.
The regular monthly meeting of the village council
was held at the village offices on January 16th, 1934, all
members of the council being present. The village attorney and
village clerk were also present.
After a discussion of a loan from the Public Works
Administrat1on to be used in fixing up the streets of the Village
upon motion of Mr. Carlisle, seconded by Mr. Goll, the clerk was
instructed to complete anis estimate of the cost of such work and
turn said estimate over to the village attorney for the purpose of
making application for such loan and that public election be held
at the discretion of the Mayor to determine if the resident tax-
payers of the Village w*nted to make such loan.
Representatives of the Biscayne Kennel Club were
present at the meeting and requested that the mount of occupational
license tax for the Kennel Club be reduced to $ 25.00 per day. This
matter was discussed fully and the council decided that the license
tax should be as it had been in previous times, that being $50 .00
per day for each day the track was in operation and that the Village
would furnish remuneration for two policemen at the track who would
be supervised by the village marshal already employed.
The question of a subsidy for a bus line running
from North Miami to Little River was discussed and the cleric was
instructed to obtain a letter showing the proposed schedule and
the amount of subsidy requested.
No further matters being presented for discussion,
the meeting was adjourned.
