11-15-1933 Regular Meeting i
MINUTES OF 'iE MEETING OF
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL.
Nov. 15, 1933.
The regular November meeting of Miami Shores
 a g
Village Council was held at the Village Offices on Wednesday
November 15th 1933. All of the members of the council were
in attendance as was the village clerk and the village
attorney. The minutes of the previous meeting were read
and approved.
Mr. Holt and Mr. Lindsey reported on a conference
they had regarding the rezoning of E1 Portal, Asbury Park and
adjoining subdivisions and it was suggested that the proposed
ordinance covering this should specify the size of a lot on
which a bolding be permitted, the type of buildings which would
be pe rmi tted and a minimum cost of 43000.00 be specified for
such building, and that the distance from the property line
of such building be regulated. It was also suggested that
such ordinance contain close restrictions as to what type of
business would constitute a public nuisance, and that the
council be required to approve all building permits and approve
or diaapprove each individual type of business.
• It was brought out that the section under question
contains a number of 25 foot lots which were originally bought
for business purposes and that owners of such lots might legally
have valid claim to use them as such, and property owners in
this section were entitled to some relief but that the general
good of the Village should not be damaged thereby.
After a discussion of what properties should be
included in the zoning changes proposed it was decided that
the ordinance should include all properties in the Village
lying south of a line beginning at a point in the boundaries
of the village located at the south west corner of block 58
said line running easterly on the north side of N. E. 91st
Street to a point located at the north east corner of lot 4
in Asbury Park Subdivision.
Mr. Goll was then included in the committee with
Mr. Holt and Mr. Lindsey to draw up an ordinance and it was
decided that setting a date for public hearing on the ordinance
be done at a later meeting.
Traffic speed regulations were discussed
and the village clerk was instructed to send a letter regarding
the matter to the residents of the village and to issue warnings
to the drivers of buses.
The Village Clerk was instructed get in touch,
with Mr. H. A. Bivans and request that he submit his claim
regarding certain property dedicated to streets in writing
to the council.
No further business being presented for discussion
the meeting was adjourned.
