04-11-1933 Regular Meeting REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING
OF VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE
April 11, 1933.
• The regular monthly meeting of the Council of
Miami Shores Village was held at the Village Offices at 7:30
P.M., Tuesday April 11th, 1933. Those present were Frank 0.
Pruitt, Magor, M. R. Harrison and John M. Carlisle, Councilmen
and the Village Attorney and Village Clerk.
Mr. J. J. Skillman, a resident of the Village
came before the council and presented the question of tax exemption
for veterans of foreign wars. After some discussion of the question,
the village attorney was instructed to make a study of the matter
and report to the council at a later meeting.
A proposed ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE RELATING
TO ELECTIONS AND TO REGISTRATION OF ELECTORS" was read and discussed
and upon first reading was approved by the Coumcil with the provision
that election judges should be paid at the rate of $4.00 per day.
The matter of the finances of the Village was discussed
and a financial statement of conditions was reviewed as of April 1st,
1333. and certain items of expense which were in excess of the amounts

• provided in the budget were approved by the council as proper.
There being a sufficient balance of cash on hand in the bank, the
village clerk was instructed to pay off warrants #172 to #326,
inclusive, said warrants totaling $3773.23 and also pay interest
on these warrants to date of payment amounting to $199 .04.
The village clerk was instructed to purchase a
safe cabinet in which to keep certain valuable records of the village
expenditure for this purpose not to exceed $75.00.
• There being no further matters presented for discussion,
the meeting was adjourned.
