Feb. 7, 19 33.

Miami Shores Village was held Tuesday Evening February 7th,
1933, at 7:30 o' clock at the Village offices. Those present
were: Frank 0. Pruitt, Mayor and W. F. Andes, John M. Carlisle
and M. R. Harrison, Councilmen, The Village Attorney and Village
Clerk were also present.
The question of advertising the delinquent tax list
was discussed and the Village Attorney brought out the fact that
the Charter of the Village did not require that each individual
piece of property be advertised separately but that such advertise-
ment"need only fairly state that all property on which village taxes
are delinquent shall be sold for tqxes, interest, penalties, costs
and fees, at a designated time and place. " This latter method of
proceedure was approved by the council.
Mr. J. 0. Phillips, Attorney, representing the
C oune lj,
Municipal Investment Company, presented a letter to they regarding
the assessment and taxes on the S.W. of S. E. t of Sec. 31-52-42,
stating that they were much in excess of last years taxes on this
property. The Council informed Mr. Phillips and Mr. Cooper who ;
• was with him, that the Council could not at this .time make any
change in the assessment unless there was a gross error in com-
puting the tax or other error. The Village Clerk was instructed
to check over the figures on the tax roll and the Village attorney
was instructed to go into the matter and see if any relief could
be had.
