The question of a further reduction in assessed
valuations of the properties in Gordon Park qas discussed and it
was the opinion of the Village Attorney that it would not be legally
possible to make any further changes in these assessments as the
tax roll for the year had already been officially approved at the
public meeting of the freeholders as well at an ensuing meeting of
the Council. The Village manager was instructed to inform Mr.
Gordon of this decision in writing.
Mr. Holt the Village Attorney presented a proposed
contract between the Village and the E. B. Elliott Company of Miami

any billbords now being maintained in the Village upon the expiration
of the advertising contract on each board. Upon motion of Mr.

and the Village Manager and Mayor were instructed to see that the
contract was properly signed by both parties concerned.
Mr. Avery Guyton, living at 6th Avenue and Grand
Councourse in the Village was present at the meeting and requested
to know the possibilities of the Village paving the alleyway in
i
the rear of his residence, said-. alleyway being public property,
gro auyton offered to stand the cost of oiling and sanding if the
Village would stand the cost of scarifying, putting in necessary
• rock, rolling and bonding. It was brought out that should the r
• Village agree to this one regnest, it might be requested to do
similar work in various other places and it would be a question
if the Village could afford it. The village manager was therefore
Inaskaat instructed to make a survey of what alleyways might need
such paving and to estimate the test of such work and report to
the council at the neat meeting.
The question of remuneration fdr J. H. Cunningham
who had been unable to work for the past two weeks due to an injury
received while on duty for the Village and after some discussion
It was decided upon motion of Mr. Carlisle, seconded by Cdr. Andes,
that Cunningham should receive full pay for the three weeks ending
October 28th and that he be put on half pay until such time as he
was able to return to work.
The Village manager was instructed to write a letter
to the Miami Transit Company, asking them to Instruct- their bus
drives to observe more caution in stopping at the crossing of
6th Avenue and 96th Street.
The question of work to be done by the Unemployment
Relief- Committee was discussed. The Mayor mentioned the fact that
• the committee was not allowed to furnish anything in the way of
material or tools and if tools were to be required for the work
that was to be done in the Village, that the Village would have
to provide them. The Council then authorized the Village Manager
to purehase any necessary tools in addition to those now on hand
for this purpose, except that the expenditure for this purpose
should be limited to $30.00.
There being no further business to discuss, the
