The group walked Phase I to observe completed work to date on the parking and landscape areas, pedestrian walkways and access to the building. Below in "Conclusion" is a listing of our findings referencing attached photos. Based upon our observations during this site visit, it appears that work completed to date is in substantial conformance with the approved civil plans and specifications, with the following exceptions: 1) Approximately three drainage structures did not have the pollutant retardant baffles (PRBs) installed yet. Interiors of drainage structures not inspected due to no one available to flip open rims /grates. KHA to conduct another site visit (to be scheduled by Moss) to view those after PRBs are installed. 2) The handicap pavement symbol in the new handicap stalls is smaller than the 5' symbol specified on the plans. Needs to be discussed with Miami Shores Village (see Photo 1 attached). 3) There were about three areas where ponding was observed on the new asphalt. These are to be corrected by re- heating and rolling the asphalt (see Photos 2 and 3 attached). 4) The new standard parking stall at the NE comer of the parking lot was measured at 6 feet wide, which is not in accordance with the plans. This issue is to be discussed with the University and Miami Shores Village to see if this parking stall can be striped out and eliminated (see Photo 4 attached). 5) The temporary sidewalk north of the Benincasa Hall main entrance exceeds 5% longitudinal slope in some areas. This will require replacement of approximately three new sidewalk flags. Also, the sod around this new sidewalk was placed on top of existing fill and sits too high. Sod needs to be reset so it is flush with the concrete walk/curb (see Photo 5 attached). 6) Thermoplastic pavement markings (other than parking stalls) need to be installed toward end of September (30 days after final lift of asphalt) (see Photo 6 attached). ■ TEL 305.673.2025 FAX 305.535.7760 Page 1 of 4 ® ®/l Kimley -Horn [_1 and Associates, Inc. • 1221 Brickell Avenue, Suite 400 Miami, Florida 33131 PHOTO PHOTO 1 PHOTO 2 • TEL 305.673.2025 FAX 305.535.7760 Page 2 of 4 Kimley -Horn and Associates, Inc.
