This letter is notice pursuant to Chapter 558, Florida Statutes,for Construction DerfacM. Mr. and Mrs. Paul demand payment for the defective materials and work In the amount of $5,917.50. This number could exceed $15,000.W based upon discovery of what is believed to be unfair and deceptive trade practices engaged in by Doors-US including concealing that the doors were not new, fiat used products, and that the sidelights were not hurricane impact rated despite making representations to Mr. and Mrs. Paul that they were. Ukewlse, we anticipate that many other consumers have been deceived by Door-US in believing that the materials that they received were truly hurricane impact rated when they were not. Thus, Door-US may be subject to further claims on a class action basis. Numerous opportunities to remedy the defective materials and workmanship have been provided to Doors-US and,those opportunities have been rejected. The original contract for purchase of the doors and sidelights was executed In August,209.5 and promised delivery in 3-4 weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Paul warted for approximately 8 months for delivery of a door system that was not what they ordered. Once the Installation began it was discovered that the permit that was approved by the City of Miami Shores was only for a double Moor installation and did not Include the sidelights or mullions. Doors-US promised a remedy. In the form of proper NOA documentation and revision to the permit which was never done. Further Investigation revealed that neither the sidelights nor the mullions were proper hurricane Impact tested and numerous demands to supply proper NOA approvals for these products were unanswered.
