Dear Applicant,
This will acknowledge receipt of a floor plan and site plan on 02/19/2014 for the use of the existing
onsite sewage treatment and disposal system located on the above referenced property. No
Objection: swimming pool. Issued by E. Omisca on 06/24/2014.
This office has reviewed and verified the floor plan and site plan you submitted, for the proposed
remodeling addition or modification to your single-family home. Based on the information you provided,
the Health Department concludes that the proposed remodeling addition or modification is not adding a
bedroom and that it does not appear to cover any part of the existing system or encroach on the
required setback or unobstructed area. No existing system inspection or evaluation and assessment,
or modification, replacement, or upgrade authorization is required.
Because an inspection or evaluation of the existing septic system was not conducted, the Department
cannot attest to the existing system's current condition, size, or adequacy to serve the proposed use.
You may request a voluntary inspection and assessment of your system from a licensed septic tank
contractor or plumber, or a person certified under section 381.0101, Florida Statutes.
If you have any questions, please call our office at (305) 623-3500.
Sincerely,
/Q-

REMOVABLE MESH POOL FENCE
POSfi STi?EN'G7H TESTS,
Please note this.is not a test of actual pool fence strength. The actual stmath of an{ sn taped
Pool fence is farareater then the fraures sit•own in hgsq tggf results. There was no mesh
attached to the posts in.this test and the strength results in no way indicate strength levels of an
Installed fence. In an Installed fence, plurall1Jes of postss came into play when the fence is
stressed since the mesh material interconnepts all posts. The test results are useful•only as a
comparative strength reference-between aluminum and fiberglass posts commonly found In the
mesh pool fence.market.
Post tests were performed by an outside independent testing firm and not by Protect-A-ChOd
Systems or Any company with.an Interest in the'mesh pool fence business: Vile are simulating
the amount of force it would require to.break ari.iridividuat.post should a child walk up to it and
push against it at the test height. Posts had screw:holes drilled-in them just as they would when
assembled.in'an actual_pool:fence. Posts wore tested(pulled)at a height of 36'from ground
level and were pulled in the direction opposite the placement of the screw holes. (This is very
Important because once holes ails drrilod in an.aluminum post k weakens the post significantly if
the post is pulled in a dJnecdon away from the holes. Breakage always occurs where the bottom
hole has been Miled in' the-metal' This fact,`along with the possibility that eompedtors'test
result$may have been obtained'by testing-at much lower heights (resulting in higher readings)
could explain the.wide discrepancy between•ours and•comp.adfors claimed strengths. It should
be noted that the only true.comparison of post Strength can be made accordtng to our test
criteria.)
It should.also be*noted that'ait aluminum posts, with the exception of our aluminum post with
PVG,insert, frectuied'and she
ared.off.•at the base of the post where it exited the sleeve and
where the bottom screw hole.was•drilled. .Whlle-bur aluminum post with the PVC insert cracked
as did the other aluminum posts, the flexible plastib PVC Insert did a better jots of preventing the
post from separating into two pieces and shearing completely oft, This is important bec:r3user a
sheared post could leave jagged,m+tal edgos:protEuding•up from the patio end down from the,
pasi causing a hazard for a child.- Rather the sheared pest offers no protection whetsaever.
None of the fiberglass posts sheared off. They merely cracked in approximately a 2"range up
the past. The'post itself remained in one.plece keeping the fence anchored to Itrs hole. This
prevents the fence post from being ilfted'.op'and continues to provide an element of protection.
It should, also be noted that in a'fg post breakage scenario, although cracked, the cracked
portion of the post remains¢ghjd the mesh away from tiny fingers. This means children
'cannot come into contact with the cracked portion.of thepout as some competitors claim.
It Is Intenesting'tp note the fbilowing when comparing post strength according to the 36"
height test results:
1. Our SILVER SERIES aluminum post with PVC insert is 13%stronger than the Y extrusion
post used by Pool Barrier. it is-only 3.8%weaker than the X extrusion post used by many
competitors and considered the strongest of the aluminum support posts. In addition, our
welded aluminum posts maintain the advantage.of true wall thickness and post diameter vs,the
extruded posts where both wall.thickness avid post, diameter can vary greatly often resulting In
Impossible or improper fit into patio*sleeves. The nearly equai'strength and 100%perfect fit

properties of our PVC reinforced welded posts: represent the reason.we continue to prefer them
to the x extruded post.
2. Our Quad Birt""post is 8%stronger than the X extrusion aluminum post, (the closest'
competitor on strength)and 23% stronger than the Y extrusion post. It is the strongest post on
the markdt be it aluminum or fiberglass. It also.provides the benefits of composite materials
over metal which include no corrosion or deterioration, shock and stress resistance, built in
coloring vs painted on,and the fact that the posts.do not shear off when stressed.
3. Our new Quad Hilt post is 13%stronger than.our previous"Fiberguard"solid fiberglass rod
reinforced,.plastic Bore mandrel, composite posts.and 23%'stronger than competitors hollow,
plastic mandrel, composite posts which did-not incorporate the solid rod reinforcement insert
(The weak,.hollow, plastic mandrel fiberglass post istwas used by some cornpetitors'as their
composite post. Their poor experience WKh thdss weak posts could explain their negative '
opinions of fiberglass cbmposne posts,in general)

Regarding your question about the proper way to Install Protect-A-Child Pool
Fencing In the ground, the accepted method Is to first dig a small footW icor
Ute post, minimum sin WAN12! deep. Next set an aluminum, tamper or
PVC pipe with the proper ID to fit either the fence post itself or fence sleeve.
The length of this pipe should be at least as long as the hole itself. Pour
oennent around the pipe to fill the We. Once the cernent sobs up the post wiM
be sufficiently supported to a=pt the hence post.
