The purpose of this letter is to verify proper installation of the Soprema Modified Bitumen Roofing System (NOA#14-0603.07) over the existing concrete deck. The property is in HVHZ-Exposure C area. The 30'x4o' flat roof consists of structural concrete deck having a positive drainage at 20 ft mean roof height. The roof design pressures based on 2014 FL Bldg Code, 175 MPH ultimate wind speed, for Risk Category II in HVHZ-Exposure C area, per RAS 128 (ASCE 7-10) are determined as follows: Field: Pi = -55 psf / Perimeter: P2 (4'wide) = -92 psf / Corner: P3 (4'x4') = -137 psf The proposed Soprema Modified Bitumen Roofing System over Concrete Decks (NOA #14- 0603.07) consisted of torch-applied two-layers of Elastophene SP2.2 Vapor Barriers over the primed (ASTM 1341) concrete deck. The deck is provided with 1.5" ACFoam-III base and 1/4" DensDeck Prime top insulation; all adhered by using (1/2"-3/4") High Velocity Insulation Adhesive ribbons spaced maximum at 3" o.c., followed by all torched-applied one-ply Sopralene Flam 180 base and Sopralene Flam 180 FR GR cap sheet. The max. design pressure of -187.5 psf (Soprema NOA#14-0603.07, Deck 3I, System Type A(20), pgs: 54&55/140, Limitation #9) is specified using torch-applied Vapor Barriers, ribbon- adhered insulation and DensDeck boards followed by torch-applied Soprema base and cap sheets. It is determined that system design pressure of -187.5 psf meets and exceeds the actual building design pressures.
