Miami, FL 33176 March 17,2016 Miami Shores Village Building Department Re: 338 Northwest 111th Terrace,Miami Shores,Florida Process Number WS-2-16-377,New Garage Door Installation It was brought to my attention that the wood jamb for the new garage door at the subject residence was installed using 1/4-inch diameter Tapcons instead of the 5/8-inch diameter anchor bolts as indicated in typical detail of the permit plans. The Notice of acceptance (NOA) of the Product Control Approved (PCA) of the garage door, NOA No 15-0225-16, indicates that the wood jamb can be installed utilizing 1/4-ich diameter Tapcons at 10.5 inches on center on hollow concrete masonry wall, or Tapcons at 24 inches on center on 2,000-psi minimum concrete. Based upon the garage door NOA requirements,I found acceptable the installation of the garage door wood jamb utilizing V4-inch diameter Tapcons. In this particular case the NOA supersede the typical detail in the permit plan.
