Allied Roofing & Sheet Metal proposes to do the following work:
Thank you for allowing ALLIED ROOFING AND SHEET METAL to inspect and quote the following
re -roofing system at the above referenced location. We will provide labor and materials for the roof
project and propose to do the following work as per the roofing specifications below.
Scope of work for sloped roof replacement with concrete tile, flat roof are not included.
Provide and install safety and protective equipment including but not limited to driveways, garage
doors, windows, etc.
Remove and discard all water diverters (if any) and gutter system in order to inspect roof perimeter
fascia wood for any potential weak points.
Remove the existing roof to the wood decking; clean the surface free of all dirt and debris, to a
smooth workable surface. Remove all debris to legal disposal facility using our equipment.
Includes replacement of up to 96 sf of rotted decking at no charge (condition of wood to be replaced
is to be determined by the contractor). If any additional bad/rotted wood is found it will be replaced
at $2.50 per sf of plywood decking and $4.50 per lineal foot for fascia, trusses, rafters, or board
(T&G) decking. If fascia is cedar wood add $4.00 per lineal foot. All replaced n exp + wood will
be painted with primer. First 30 lineal feet of fascia included in price. Initial
Re -nail existing deck to meet current building codes using 2.5" ring shank nails.
Provide and install 6" strips of self adhered modified on all roof penetrations for additional
protection.
One ply of ASTM D226 30 # base sheet shall be installed with Metro -Dade approved tin tags and
1.25" ring shank nails. We will install two layers in all valleys.
All penetrations will be flashed according to manufacturer's specifications.
All lead plumbing stacks, vents and drip edges shall be removed and replaced with new. Drip edge
3" x 3" to be made of 26 gauge galvanized metal, color white, brown or mill finish with returned edge
for better performance in windy conditions.
Provide and install rodent protection on all soil stacks and penetrations.
Install 26 gauge galvanized G90 18" valley metal per current building code.
Prime all metal surfaces before hot moping with asphalt primer.

Provide and install single layer 90 -Ib set in hot asphalt at the rate of 30-35 Ib per 100sf. Or utilize
Self Adhered SBS Modified whichever is preferred. We will back nail membrane to prevent slippage.
Provide two layers of membrane in all valleys.
Provide and install new Entegra Estate or Bella or 13" flat, Boral Villa 900,13arcelona 900, Saxony
900,Hanson Regal or Hacienda or Chalet Shake, Eagle Malibu or Capistrano or Bell Air. (Standard
Category 1 colors) Tile to be installed with medium size paddies of Polyfoam AH 160. System to be
applied to meet manufacturer's specification and local building codes. It should be noted that when
choosing flat tile it may result in a non favorable, uneven appearance due to the structural integrity
of existing wood deck.
Provide and install new hip and ridge metal reinforcement where ridge tile will be foamed down,
cement (point) around tile as needed. Cement will be tinted to match tile. -
Paint all roof vent penetrations and soil stacks.
All integral flashing and trim to mate. All fasteners, sealants and closures. Provide metal eave
closures on perimeter of house. (color to be chosen by owner)
Taxes, delivery, hoisting and setup included.
All the above complete with manufacturer's warranty (tile Lifetime) and our seven (7) year watertight
warranty. All work to be completed in accordance with or to exceed the current building code.
We will pull permits and schedule inspections with the city building department. Permit fees are
included in the contract price up to $250.00 along with all taxes. We will notify owner of
commencement date so that vehicles in the immediate area can be moved prior to re -roofing. We
will not be responsible for vehicles parked close to the work area. Dust and/or dirt may enter
building during re -roofing; interior should be covered for protection. Owner must allow access. We
will exercise caution when accessing property; however, we will not be responsible for lawn,
driveway, sidewalk or pool damages.
Pre- construction meeting.
Prior to scheduled commencement of the roofing installation and associated work, we will conduct a
meeting at the project site with the contractor, owner, or any other party involved directly in project.
Purpose of this meeting is to lay construction schedule, set up and operations involved in roofing
project.
Upon completion of project this system bears Underwriters Laboratories rating for roof slopes
indicated UL Class A.
Al materials used on project are Metro -Dade approved.
Exclusions:
Furring; Shimming; Nailers; Substrates; Phasing of our work; Code upgrades; Custom Colors; Relief
or saw cuts; Framing of supports; Engineering or special testing, any insulation below roof system.
Insurance:
We are fully covered by workman's compensation, public liability and property damage insurance. A
certificate of insurance is available upon request.

MOTE: Effective -October 1, 2007, new hurricane mitigation retrofits for existing site -built single
family residential homes states that homes exceeding $300,000.00 in appraised or insured value
(Wind Bome Debris Regions Only as prescribed in section 1609.2 of the Florida Building Code) will
be subject to a mandated roof -to -wall (hurricane strapping) retrofit. Whereas roof -to -wall
connections will be improved (if existing connections do not comply) to comply with section 201.3.
Mandated retrofits shall not be required beyond a fifteen percent increase to the cost of re -roofing. If
your home triggers this retrofit, estimates and options will be discussed before any work begins on
your re -roofing project.
NOTE: Effective July 1, 2008 new hurricane mitigation retrofits for existing site -built single family
residential homes states that when any activity requiring a building permit for which the estimated
cost is $50,000.00 or more (Wind Bourne Debris Regions Only as prescribed in section 1609.2 of
the Florida Building Code) and equals or exceeds $750,000.00 in insured or appraised value the
opening protection is required within the Florida Building Code, Building or Florida Building Code,
Residential for new construction shall be provided. If your home triggers this retrofit, estimates and

Requirement 1: Hurricane Mitigation Retrofits As Required By CS/HB 7057: The provisions
contained in a new Florida law (CS/HB 7057) that require specific retrofits to certain single-family
homes has gone into effect as of October 1, 2007. Sections 101 of the Rule outline the retrofit
requirements for existing site -built, single family residential structures.

Section 101.2 of the Rule provides that when a roof is replaced on a single-family residence located
in the wind-borne debris region of Florida, that has a structure value of $300,000 or more (either
insured value or tax value), and the structure was built prior to the implementation of the Florida
Building Code (March 1, 2002):
a) Roof -to -wall connections shall be improved as required in Section 201.3 of the Rule.
b) However, these mandated retrofits of the roof -to -wall connections shall not be required beyond a
15 percent increase in the cost of the roof replacement.
c) Where complete retrofits of all the roof -to -wall connections, as prescribed in Section 201.3 would
exceed 15 percent of the cost of the re -roofing project, the priorities outlined in Section 201.3.5 of
the Rule shall be used to limit the scope of work to the 15 percent limit.
Section 201.2.5 Priorities for mandated roof -to -wall retrofit expenditures. For houses with both hip
and gable roof ends, the priority shall be to retrofit the gable end roof -to -wall connections unless the
width of the hip end is more than 1.5 times greater than the width of the gable end. Priority shall be
given to connecting the corners of roofs to walls below where the spans of the roofing members are
greatest.

INSTALLATION:
I. 3MTM 2 -Component Foam Roof Tile Adhesive AH -160 may be used with any roof tile assembly having a current
NOA that lists uplift resistance values with the use of 3MTM 2 -Component Foam Roof Tile Adhesive AH -160.
2. 3MTM 2 -Component Foam Roof Tile Adhesive AH -160 shall be applied in compliance with the Component
Application section and the corresponding Placement Details noted herein. The roof tile assembly's adhesive
attachment with the use of 3MTM 2 -Component Foam Roof Tile Adhesive AH -160 shall provide sufficient
attachment resistance, expressed as an uplift based system, to meet or exceed the uplift resistance determined in
compliance with Miami -Dade County Roofing Application Standards RAS 127. The adhesive attachment data is
noted in the roof tile assembly NOA.
3. 3MTM 2 -Component Foam Roof Tile Adhesive AH -160 and its components shall be installed in accordance with
Roofing Application Standard RAS 120, and 3M Company's 3MT111 2 -Component Foam Roof Tile Adhesive AH -
160 Operating Instruction and Maintenance Booklet.
4. Installation must be by a Factory Trained 'Qualified Applicator' approved and licensed by 3M Company. 3M
Company shall supply a list of approved applicators to the authority having jurisdiction.
5. Calibration of the Foam Dispenser RTF 1000 dispensing equipment is required before application of any adhesive.

6. INSTALLATION:
6.1 The roof deck shall be minimum 15/32 -inch plywood (non-MVHZ) or minimum 19/32 -inch
plywood (HVH ) attached in accordance with FBC Chapter 23 to the satisfaction of the AH3.
6.2 Hip & Ridge Channel Metal and Trim Lock Channel Metal shall be installed using min. 11 ga. x
1W -inch long x 3/8 -inch head diameter galvanized annular ring shank nails spaced 6 -inch o,c,
along both deck -flanges.. Fasteners shall be positioned *-Inch from the outside edge of each
deck -flange, set in a bed plastic roof cement. For FBC HVHZ, refer to FBC RAS 118, Drawing
13, Detail 3, RAS 119, Drawing 12, Detail 3 or RAS 120, Drawing 15, Detail 3.
6.3 Trim Lock Pius Channel Metal shall be installed atop the Approved roof underiayment in
continuous 2 -inch wide ribbons of Polyset AH160 centered beneath each 1.5 -inch wide deck
flange, approximately 16 grams/ft. Place the Trim Lock Pius Channel Metal into the wet
adhesive and allow to set prior to installation of roof tiles.

manufacturer's Approved, published Installation Instructions, subject to the limitations
outlined In Section 5 herein, When using Polyfoam Products' tile adhesive, the hip/ridge tile
installation shall result In minimum 30 square Inches of contact area on the underside of the
tile, as measured 3 -inch down from the head of the tile to the the overiap. The exposed
edges shall be packed and pointed with Approved mortar or weather blocking adhesive in
