T -6 aluminum extrusion, parabolic ribs which attached between an 1/8" and 3/8" thick center plates. The plates 'attached to the declination bracket..with 3/4 " -10 hex-.bolt (refer to assembly and installation manual). For the test, the antenna was-securely-fastened by its assembly to a'4" schedule 40 steel.mounting.post as directed by the assembly manual. The post was also securely embedded in the ground. The antenna was pointing in the vertical position. Then 50 pound bags of soil were placed symmetrically one -by -one over the antenna mesh and ribs-starting on.the center plate.and moving outward until the antenna,was covered . with bags (1 bag deep). A total of 56 bags were placed on the antenna surface giving a total load of 2.8 kips. This load was left.in place for approximately 5 minutes then removed in the same fashion as they were placed.. No permanent damage or 8eflection was observed (note -no deflection gages were employed in this test). The Raydx 102' antenna has been certified for winds up to 120 miles a hour, up to_ 30 feet above the ground. The antenna exceeds the requirements of the South'e'rn Building Code, the South Florida Building Code (Browar.d County), and the A.S.A. Standard (Grand Bahamas) based on dead load testing. The antenna was dead loaded with 50 pound sand bags distributed from the center to the rim, to a total.of 2,800 pounds. Not only did the -antenna not fail, we are using that specific antenna as our laboratory antenna. Even after the test it's performance is excellent and unchanged. The provisions of Chapter 34 of the South Florida Building Code (SFBC) govern the minimum requirements and standards of the industry for roofing system installations. Additionally, the following items should be addressed as part of the agreement between the owner and the contractor.
