Subject: Final Phase of Loggias/Patio
This is to advise that the General Contractor who was granted the contract to
complete the "Loggias Project", his personnel will be painting the Loggias
floors today, Tuesday, January 21, 2014, as previously advised and perhaps
tomorrow (2nd coat) Wednesday, January 22, 2014.
At this time, we are asking all owners and residents of all the apartments on
the second floor of building 726 to carefully observe the following:
** His personnel will start early. It will take about 3-4 hours for the paint to
d'y.
* * Once the painting is completed; you must adhere to the following rules
and restrictions as it pertains to your individual units:
** No hanging of Curtains on the "patio'.
** No Hanging of "Frames ".
* * No placing of "hooks" for hanging plants on the screens side or exterior
walls.
In addition, we are providing a copy of'%1EANS OF EGRESS" page
provided to us by the Miami -Dade Fire Rescue Inspector who recently
visited our property. Please be advised, the Fire Department will be back for
the final inspection once the entire project is completed. We have
highlighted in red the statues which relate to your building (Top of page # 1
and top of page #2).
ABOVE ALL:
The "patio" area must be always maintained completely clear of any
obstructions. The newly remodeled patio area is to be a "WALK AREA"
providing "FULL EGRESS" on the entire corridor. There can be NO
interference of "egress" of exits.

�s 71.101* General. Means of egress shall be continuously

7.1.10.2 Furnishings and Decorations in Means of Egress.

divide the means of egress into sections appurtenant to individual
rooms, apartments, or other occupied spaces. Where the authority
having jurisdiction finds the required path of travel to be
obstructed by furniture or other movable objects, the authority

the way or shall be permitted to require that railings or other
permanent barriers be installed to protect the path of travel against
encroachment.
7.1.101.3 Mirrors shall not be placed on exit door leaves. Minors
shall not be placed in or adjacent to any exit in such a manner as
to confac the direction of egress
7.1.11 Sprinkler System Installation.. Where another provision
of this chapter requires an automatic sprinkler system, the
sprinkler system shall be installed in accordance with the subparts
of 93.1.1 permitted by the applicable fey chapters.
7.2 Means of Egress Component.
7.2.1 Door Opening.
7.2.11 General.
7.2.1.1.1 A door assembly in a means of egress shall conform to
the general requirements of Section 7.1 and to the special.

required to serve as an exit shall be designed and constructed so
that the path of egress travel is obvious and direct. Windows that,
because of their physical configuration or design and the materials

7.2.1131 For the purposes of Section 72, a building shall be

7.2.1.13.2 Where means of egress doors are locked in a building
that is not considered occupied, occupants shall not be locked
beyond their control in buildings or building spaces, except for
lockups in accordance with 22.43 and 23.43, detention and
correctional occupancies, and health care occupancies.
7.2.12 Door Leaf Width.
7.2.L2.1* Measruement of Clear Width
72.12.1.1 Switdng Door Assemblies. For swinging door
assemblies, clear width shall be measured as follows:
(1) The measurement shall be taker at the narrowest point in the
door opening.
(2) The measurement shall be taken between the face of the door
leaf and the stop ofthe fame.
(3) For new swinging door assemblies, the measurement shall be
taken with the door leaf open 90 degrees.
(4) For any misting door assembly, the measurement shall be
taken with the door leaf in the firlly open position.
(5) Projections of not more than 4 in. (100 mm) into the door
opening width on the binge side shall not be considered
reductions in clear width, provided that such projections are
for proposes of accommodating panic hardware or fire exit
hardware and are located not lens than 34 in. (865 mm), and
not more than 48 in. (1220 mm), above the flour.
(6) Projections exceeding 6 ft 8 in. (2030 mm) above the ttoor

7.112 -1.2 Other than Swinging Door Assemblies. For other

72.12.2.2 Other than Swinging Door Assemblies. For other
than swinging door assemblies, egg capacity width shall be
measured as follows:
