I have added comments addressing each comment to the best of my ability to explain/address the request for further clarification. 1. Show on plans the location of the products storage area on plan(all of them, unused products and hazardous waste), provide the amount of the containers and size of the containers expected to be stored on site. Provide details and modify accordingly. As this is a chemical stockroom, the room is used for storage of chemicals, glassware and other laboratory equipment.Approximately 1200 chemicals(estimated to be about 2000 L total)are stored in the current stockroom.About half of these are stored in flammable, oxidizer, or corrosive cabinets. The remaining chemicals are stored on shelving following RCRA compatibility rules. The stockroom is also used as a central accumulation area for hazardous waste. Once waste containers are filled in satellite areas, these containers are then transferred to the central accumulation area in the stockroom. These containers are 20 L at the largest, most are 4 L or smaller depending on the source and contents. The waste is disposed every 180 days by EQ Florida. The maximum waste in the central accumulation area would be 400 L total in a combination of 20 L, 4 L and smaller waste containers. 2. Make provision to provide the unused products and hazardous waste with, stored in containers 55- gallon or greater, secondary containment. Secondary containment must specify containment dimensions, material of construction(high density polyethylene, stainless steel, etc.),size of the storage containers and amount of the containers that will be held. Secondary containment must be capable of containing the spillage of 110%of the largest storage container. Show details and volume calculations on plan. Barry University is a designated"small quantity generator" by EPA which means we accumulate between 220 Ibs and 2200 lbs of waste within a one month period along with 2.2 Ibs or less of acutely hazardous materials per month. We have nothing near the 55 gallon size for waste containers. Our waste containers are,at largest,20 L(5 gallon)and most are smaller.Once these are full,we move them to a storage area awaiting disposal. 3. If drums or containers will be stored over spill containment pallets then show on plans the location, call on plans the manufacturerLs name and model number and provide the manufacturer,&s specifications of the spill containment pallets. Provide details on plans and modify accordingly. Barry University is a designated"small quantity generator" by EPA which means we accumulate between 220 Ibs and 2200 Ibs of waste within a one month period along with 2.2 Ibs or less of acutely hazardous materials per month. We have nothing near the 55 gallon size for waste containers. Our waste containers are,at largest,20 L(5 gallon)and most are smaller.
