As requested by your office we have visited the above referenced project to review the conditions
of an existing 4 ft long cantilevered concrete beam.
Please refer to the attached structural analysis showing that the existing concrete beam, assuming
the following minimum requirements of the 2010 FBC Residential, is structurally adequate to
support the project loads:
- Concrete compressive strength f'c=3,000 PSI
- Reinforcement strength fy= 60,000 psi
- Beam section (measured) = 8"x 12"
- Beam reinforcement=four(4) #5 bars,two (2) at top and two (2) at bottom
