All standard panel sizes are acceptable for mechanical attachment. When applied in approved asphalt, panel size shall be 4' x 4' maximum. 4. An overlay and/or recovery board insulation panel is required on all applications over closed cell foam insulations when the base sheet is fully mopped. If no recovery board is used the base sheet shall be applied using spot mopping with approved asphalt, 12" diameter circles, 24" o.c.; or strip mopped 8" ribbons in three rows, one at each sidelap and one down the center of the sheet allowing a continuous area of ventilation. Encircling of the strips is not acceptable. A 6" break shall be placed every 12' in each ribbon to allow cross ventilation. I was advised to do this by Mr. Reese and my contractor Mr. Riczo. As you probably know, I am trying to get permission to put a hybrid clay tile over metal roof on the tiled portions of my home. There appears to have been a moratorium in place for metal roofs, after the Village Council was unable to settle the matter of extending the use of such roofs in the absence of a council member who had gone overseas. It is my understanding that the Council tabled the issue when the vote came in 2 in favor and two against. We have been before the Planning and Zoning council on two occasions over the last few months but could not get approval due to the moratorium. Yesterday February 15,2001 the issue was taken up by the council and the restriction on metal roofs was lifted for another year. Unfortunately this did not include hybrid roofs. The Council did however vote 5 in favor and zero opposed to ask the Planning and Zoning Board to review and possibly amend the code to include hybrid roofs in the metal roof extension. I am hopeful that this will happen soon and I will be permitted to complete the roofing job on my home. Since I have been involved in all the appropriate and legal avenues for pursuing my aforementioned goals, I request that I be granted an extension on my roofing permit. I am confident that this matter will be settled soon and I will be able to proceed with the work, using either the hybrid system or one of the other already approved roofing systems. I can assure you that in the past few months I have done everything in my power to comply with the time frame of the permit. I want to also assure you that once a decision has been made, I will complete the roof as soon as possible. Thank you for your kind attention in this matter.
