State law requires construction to be done by licensed contractors. You have applied for a permit under an
exemption to that law. The exemption allows you, as the owner of your property, to act as your own contractor
even though you do not have a license. You must supervise the construction yourself. You may build or
improve a one - family or two-family residence or a farm out - building. ' You may also build or improve a
commercial building at a cost of 525,000.00 or less. The building must be for your own use and occupancy. It
may not be built for sale or lease. If you sell or lease a building you have built yourself within one year after the
construction is completed, the law will presume that you built it for sale or lease, which is a violation of this
exemption. You may not hire an unlicensed person as your contractor. It is your responsibility to make sure
that people employed by you have licenses required by state law and by county or municipal Iicensing
ordinances. Any person working on your building who is not Iicensed must work under your supervision
and must be employed by you, which means that you must deduct F.LC.A. and `with- holding tax and
provide workers' compensation for that employee, all as prescribed by law. Your construction must comply

DYNATECH ENGINEERING
Pursuant to your request; D'YNATECH ENGINEERING CORP., completed a Preliminary Subsoil
Investigation on October 19, 2005 the above referenced project. The purpose of our investigation to verify
subsoil conditions relative to foundation design of the proposed additions.
A total of (3) standard penetration boring tests were performed according to ASTM D 1586 down to an average
depth of 20' below existing ground surface.
The following graph was developed as a general condition for the subject site: (refer to field boring logs for
exact locations and soil conditions):

Based on our understanding of the proposed structure and our field boring logs; it is evident that the dee
foundation system are needed to support the proposed additions without detrimental settlement to the structure:
]Deep foundation systems shall consist of one of the following alternatives:

Estimated Lateral Load for a pile Top Deflection of %4 inch. The proposed pile length is based on the existin
ground elevation at the time of drilling. Pile length may vary depending on proposed grade beam elevation an
soil profile.
In the case of the Pin, Helical, or Precast piles a minimum of 4 piles shall be driven to determine productio
pile length. All work shall be performed in accordance with the applicable building code.
In case of existing structures in vicinity of the pile driving operation, care shall betaken not to creel
excessive vibration. Vibration levels shall be monitored to verify compliance with county regulations. Ster
must be taken to prevent excessive vibrations. The minimum center to center of piles or adjacent foundatior
shall be not less than twice the average diameter for round piles or 1— 3 /4 times the diagonal dimensions c
rectangular piles, but in no case less than 30 inches.

All piles shall be designed by a professional engineer and shall be placed under supervision of our Geotechnica
Engineer to verify compliance with our recommendations.
Regardless of the thoroughness of a geotechnical exploration there is always the possibility that conditions
may be different from those of the test locations; therefore, DYNATECH ENGINEERING CORP., does .

foundation analysis only. It is not to be used for excavating or back filling estimates. As a mutual•protectior
to clients, the public and ourselves, all reports are submitted as the confidential property of clients, and
authorization for publication of statements, conclusions or extracts from or regarding our reports is reservec
pending our written approval. All work must be conducted under the supervision of our geotechnical
engineer. The discovery of any site or subsurface conditions during construction which deviate from the
information obtained from our subsoil investigation is always likely and should be reported to us for our
evaluation.
