It was built during the first year of development of Miami Shores by the Shoreland Company and was designed by H. George Fink, who also designed the home next door at 568 NE 102 St. Fink was associated with his cousin, George Merrick, in the development of Coral Gables and designed many significant buildings there. He received an honorary citation from King Alfonso XIII for his Spanish design work in America. Noteworthy features include arched bays on the porte cochere.
