shall be used for vehicular parking until the following improve-
ments have been provided:
(a) When it is proposed to use any portion of the zone for
parking, the sides abutting residential property shall be
enclosed with masonry walls of five (5) feet in height ex-
cept that where the end of a wall abuts a street, the final
twenty -five (25) feet of the wall shall be gradually tapered
to a height of three (3) feet. Entrance and exit openings
may be provided in the walls that abut streets. Landscap-
ing shall be provided along said walls according to a plot
plan that has been approved by the planning board.
(b) Parking areas shall be paved with not less than six (6)
inches of approved pit rock base and covered by not less
than one (1) inch of asphaltic concrete surfacing; said pav-
ing shall include the installation of drainage facilities so
that all rain and surplus water will be disposed of within
the confines of the particular property.
Wherever a portion of a lot zones for B-1 is used for parking
there shall be erected a wall, as required in (this] section, along
the border of said portion of a lot facing an alley that abuts a
single- family home.
