I am finished discussing this project with Island Fence via phone calls or home visits. Please do not leave me another message or send Jorge out to the house. I will document in this fax what needs to be fixed, then I expect your supervisor to inspect the work, prior to asking for the final inspection. The portion of the fence that runs from the ally to the garage was not installed properly. It is clear that this was the final phase of a very poorly managed installation process. The installers ran out of the proper materials and attempted to finish the job with whatever they had in their truck. 1. The installers returned after we pointed out that they used nails that were too long for the boards, therefore the sharp tips were exposed on the inside boards of the fence. They "solved" that problem by slicing off the tips of the nails, which resulted in several very noticeable marks, digs, lines on the wood were the nail tips were cut off They need to replace all the wood that was affected by "fixing" the long nails. 2. The gate near the garage has an open space between two boards where they were not installed properly. 3. There are two holes and marks on the wood that were left when the installers attempted to correct the height of the gate latch. 4. The screws used to secure the gate hinge are TOO LONG for the boards, therefore the sharp tips are exposed on the other side. Christina, I am sorry that you have had to bear the brunt of our frustration over the past several weeks. As you know, I attempted on several occasions to get the owner of the company, or Julio, our salesperson, or Jorge, the installation manager, to call me back when we wanted answers as to why our job was promised and delayed, daily. You must remember my and my husband's phone calls and messages. Our sentiments have not changed and we want Island Fence to do what supposedly is within its area of expertise (I really should not have to tell you guys how to install a fence that meets a customer's satisfaction....). Perhaps that is Island Fence's standard practices in providing an unacceptable level of customer service. Regardless, it will affect your business' reputation, one lost customer at a time.
