BEGGS, INC. The above referenced permits were pulled for the installation of new exterior door & windows in the Gladding residence. The Electrical Permit was pulled when during the installation of the windows, a conduit was discovered which needed to be relocated before installation could continue. The inspector was out to perform a final inspection for the relocation of the conduit & the re- circuiting of the oven & dryer. During the inspection process, the inspector noted that the number of outlets in the second kitchen, their circuiting, & mounting height was not in conformance with current codes and he would not give a final approval on the referenced permit. Examination of the existing file on the above property will reveal that this residence was permitted & constructed in the 1950's. The portion of the residence in question was part of the original construction and not an addition as one might expect when looking at the property now. There has been only 1 structural permit on the property since it's original construction & that was to enclose an existing covered porch area. I am sure that you inspector is absolutely correct about the current code. However, since the current work being preformed on the residence is far from 50% of the current value of the residence I do not believe that my client is required to bring the entire residence up to current codes. I would appreciate your review of this matter & the closing -out of the outstanding electrical permit #2002 -25. Thank you for your attention to this Sincerely Peter C.
