The tile is identified by the imprint "Alfareria El Volcan, made in Venezuela ", For both mud -on and nail -on systems, the tile shall be installed on a solid nailable roof deck of 5/8" thick plywood for ail new construction or to 1/2" plywood deck on re- roofing. The nailable deck shall be covered with a 30 type lI (ASTM D -226) anchor sheet and tin- capped in accordance with Section 3403.4 (c) of the South Florida Building Code, over this, a hot - mopped Tamco type #90 (ASTM D -249) Type II cap sheet or equal shall be applied The tile providing a 2" head lap shall be grouted to the cap sheet using a 12" trowel of mortar consisting of one bag of Florida Roof Tile Cement (I cubic foot) by Lafarge Corporation, to 2 parts mason sand (14 shovels) with a reconunended mixing time of 5 minutes after all ingredients are in the mixer. The nailable deck shall be covered with a 30 type 1I (ASTM D -726) underlayment applied with a 4" over lap and end lap and tin - capped 12" o,c. infield and 12" on all headlaps. Drip edge metal shall be applied directly on top of 30 type 11 felt. Over the underlayment a 90# (ASTM D -249) type 1I cap sheet shall be installed providing a 2" head lap and a 6" end laps and applying plastic cement or hot asphalt between plies, and backnailing with 1" rooting nails and tin tabs 12" o,c, approximately I" from top edge of cap sheet. Due to Hurricane Andrew, this office has been inundated with requests for both new products and renewals, which has caused a large back log in responding with an official Notice of Acceptance.
