1. This approves Lifetile concrete roofing tiles types "Espana
Mission ", "Rustic Shake" and "Colonial Slate ", for roofs having a
slope of 2 1/2" : 12" or greater, with no height limitation.
2. The tiles shall be manufactured of one part Portland cement to
three parts sand with no more than 12% watery added. Color glaze
consisting of oxides and cement shall be applied to the tile
surface and sealed prior to placement in controlled curing
chambers.
3. Tiles shall be applied over solid wood or other nailable decks,
with an underlayment consisting of anchor sheet and a cap sheet of
mineral surfaced roofing as described in the South Florida
Building Code, Paragraphs 3403.4 (b) and 3403.4 (m) (2)
respectively.
4. Roof tiles shall be set in a bed of Type M or S mortar as set
forth in Paragraph 2702.10 (b) and the mortar shall be sandwiched
between all laps at all butts and along the sides of the tile.

5. Quality Control
The manufacturer shall retain the services of an independent
testing laboratory to maintain quality control. Testing shall be
performed on a minimum of five (5) tiles each ninety days (90) for
strength according to Section 3403 South Florida Building Code and
for moisture absotption according to ASTM C -4. Test samples
shall be selected by a laboratory according to ASTM D- 3665 -82.
Results shall be sent to the Dade County Product Control Section
every three months. Test reports shall bear a description of the
tile by material and color, i.e. cement, grey.
6. Marking
All tiles shall bear the imprint of the manufacturer's name or
logo and country of origin for foreign tile to permit
identification in the field.
7. This renewal supersedes Notice of Acceptance #88- 0720.1 dated
September 19, 1988.
