The architects, Kiehnel F Elliott, were one of the firms responsible for establishing the Mediterranean Revival theme of Miami Shores which continued through the 1920s. The symmetry of the home is emphasized by two Italian cypresses on the interior corners of the flanking wings. Other noteworthy features include the entry surround. The structure is in scale and character with the surrounding neighborhood.
