LAYING OUT: The Owner will provide engineer's stakes at the cor- ners of the property. The Contractor shall lay out his own work and be responsible for its correotness. PROTECTION OF TREES, ETC.: The Contractor shall be responsible for damage to trees by his employees, sub - oontractors or their employees. Any tree within twenty (20) feet of construction work shall be boxed 8 high. The Contractor shall replace any sidewalk slabs damaged by delivery of materials. CLEANING UP: The Contractor shall at all times keep the building and premises reasonably free of rubbish, scaffold- ing, eto. Upon completion of the work he shall remove all rubbish and scaffolding, creep. ekll wood floors, clean and cover Ahem with building paper, wash all tile and oement floors; clean all spots off the plaster and other finished work; clean all glass in doors, and windows, perfectly clean - inside and out; and waah all plumbing fixtures. 1 lath. Flue linings, fire clay tile. Caulk all openings with an approved elastic compound. Stucco on concrete blocks, two coats. First coat 1 part oemant, 2i parts sand. Second coat same, waterproofed with Crystex and applied with a texture as directed. Wet the blocks before stuccoing. Plaster shall be applied on all walls and ceilings exoept where otherwise shown or noted. Two coat work in kitchens and bathrooms, with hard white finish. Two coat work in all other rooms,which shall be textured to suit owner. Texture as per sample selected by Owner. Plaster behind tile shall be cement on galvanized wire Other plaster shall be an approved make of gypsum on No. 1 Cypress lath spaced 1/4" apart and reinforced at all angles with galvanized wire lath 4" wide. CARPENTRY Framing, anchoring, creosoting, etc. as required by the Building Department. Lumber and timbers shall be of merchantable quality, free from large or loose knots and other imperfections impairing durability or strength. Ordinary Framing No. 2 Y.P. - exposed Framing No. 2 cypress. Concrete block walls shall be furred with 1 x 2 verticals 16" p.e. Creosote all wood in contact with masonry, including furring strips. Roof sheathing 1 . x 6 T&G Pine with 2 nails at each bear- ing. Sub- flooring same, laid diagonally. CARPENTRY - continued Windows, standard steel casements complete; bronze finish hardware, and screens 18 mesh. Interior finish woodwork No. 1 plain Cypress, as noted. Exterior doors 1 -3 ",with 1 -1/4" rebated frames. Other doors 1 -3/8" stock panel Cypress, or as selected. Closet shelving pine,for painting. Five shelves in linen closet. Hook strip, pole, and two shelves in Bedroom closets, supported in the middle if over 4 long. Medicine cabinet in bathroom with x 20 Venetian mirror. Kitchen cabinets to have flush panel wood doors. Cupboards under drain board and above. All cupboards and closets carried up to veiling. Oak floors where shown, except in Kitchen. Floor in Kitchen linoleum cemented down on Pine floor. Walla and ceiling of closets to be plastered. ROOFING _.... f Cover all roofing surfaces with lb. slate coated felt spot - mopped to sheathing, lapped 2" d mopped on the laps. ,Apply extra layers in valleys, over ridges and under fleshings. All fleshings, etc. 16 oz. copper. Flash and counterflash the chimney and all rising surfaces. Valleys 14" wide covered 4" along each edge with an extra layer of felt mopped to copper. Copper drips at all eaves. Cover all roofs with barrel tile, barrel cape at eaves. Give Owner a written guarantee against all leaks for a period of one year. TILE Kitchen counter to have bull -nose edge, cove back and to slope to the sink, with bull -nose edge around sink. Bathrooms to have glazed wall tile with openings. Wainscot 4- is to be 6 -0" high. Entrance to have tile floor. Tile sill throughout entire building.
