May 29th, 1937 I am in receipt of a set of plans and specifications of residence for T. W. J. Donohoe to be located on the corner of N. E. 4th Avenue and 100th Street, Miami Shores. After inspecting these drawings and specifications, I wish to give you the following report. We are not approving this set of drawings, as we feel that should this house be completed in accordance with these drawings, the completed job will not be comparable in design to the type of work that you are requiring in the Miami Shores Village. The plans, in our opinion, are very incom- plete and we do not feel that even a well designed job could be success- fully executed with such a set of drawings. MIAMI June 2, 1937 wkins We have examined the plans and specifications of the residence for T. W. J. - Donohoe to be built at the corner of NE 4th Avenue and 100th Street. After inspecting his drawings and specifications, we wish to advise that we will approve this plan, but would like to draw to the attention of the owner, Mr. Donohoe, that it is not in accordance with the type residences that are now being built in Miami Shores, and we feel it is to his advantage to give the exterior of the house further study, as he is expending a considerable sum of money and, in our opinion, he is not getting a first -class design, which will, of course, react to his disadvantage in case he ever wishes to sell the house. As 1 have stated to you over the telephone, our architect will be glad to give Mr. Donohoe the benefit of his advice without charge and we feel sure that a much better looking house can be had for the amount of money which he has indicated that he will expend. However, if he wishes to build the house "as is ", it is perfectly agreeable to us, but we feel it our duty to point out to him that we consider he is getting a poorly designed house.
