Dear Mr. Boyce:
In response to our telephone conversation of this afternoon re-
garding an air conditioning compressor located in the side yard of 1234
Northeast 101st Street, I would like to furnish you with the following
pertinent information.
A Sound Level Meter, Series 2996 by General Radio Company was
employed to determine if the sound level from the above mentioned unit
Mould be objectionable. The following is a list of readings:
At the unit in line with the air path a reading of 68 db
was witnessed.
At rest' let line some 50' away, 50 db and at building line
,at house to east 58 db.
There was no difference in the db reading in running and cut
en. the general acceptable noise level. for A/C noises is 60 db at 15 ft.
And sIno. this unit is well within this range I feel the installation to
be aeceptable.
I hive oautiened the owner of the noise problem and suggested
bushes being planted'at the unit and also the using of proper maintenance.
Re has assured me that he would cooperate to the fullest.
Should the noise level of this unit increase I would be glad to
once again determine the noise level and if it is in of acceptable limits
I will be glad to assist in getting it corrected.
Maio
At the lot line adjaceat to unit 59 db, 15 ft. from unit
in line with air path 60 db.
Very truly yours,
