Significance:
Structure is a frame vernacular bungalow. It was once the home of Hugh
Gordon, a member of the first Miami Shores Village Council. The
structure was reoriented on the same lot in'1952. It is the only
frame vernacular home in this section of Miami Shores and one of
few pre-1940 homes in the area. Noteworthy features include the
classic bungalow design and a large screened porch on the E of
front facade. Gordon was a local banker who father, Hugh Gordon
Sr., had purchased land in the Miami Shores area in 1901 and
farmed it in tomatoes and grapefruit.

Physical Description:
Structure is a one -story frame vernacular bungalow. A large screened
porch on the E portion of front (N) facade has brick corner posts.
(The porch was properly situated on the SE before the house was
reoriented on the same site.) Asphalt shingles on roof are in
overlaping diamond pattern.
