HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD
JULY 15, 1983
A special meeting of the Historic Preservation Board was
held on Friday, July 15, 1983, at 1:30 p.m. at the Village Hall,
with the following Board members present:
Marty Stofik, Chairman
Jamex A. Dixon, Jr.
Ralph Renick
Absent: C.Lawton McCall
Victor D. Griffith
Also Present: Frank LuBien, Building Director
This meeting was called for the purpose of 'considering a request
to replace a roof on a Historic Landmark Property.
Mrs. Bessie Weise, of 121 N.E. 100 Street, Miami Shores would
like to replace her roof because her present roof is leaking. She
plans to reroof with red barrel tile which is the same type of roof
that she currently has, and that was on the building originally.
The contractor, Biscayne Roofing Co., has been informed that a
Certificate of Appropriateness has been issued and approved by
the Board.
Mr. LuBien advised the Board that he is now very clear'on require-
ment of Landmark Designated properties requesting addition, change,
or alteration in the exterior appearance, needs a Certificate of
Appropriateness before the building permit is issued.
Following discussion, Mr. Dixon moved the Board empower the Chairman
to approve, without the necessity of calling a meeting of the Board, any
building permit for Historic Landmark Designated property, where exact
- replacement is being proposed - where the material is the same or similar.
Motion was seconded by Mr. Renick and carried unanimously.
The Chairman advised updated list of Historic Landmark Designated
properties be checked whenever building permits are sought in the Village.
This will be done by the Building Department.
The meeting adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
