The Contractor shall furnish all materials, utensils, scaffolding,
labor, transportation, etc., required for the performance of the
work herein specified, except as otherwise particularly mentioned.

All materials must be of the best of their several kinds in quality
asherein specified. all labor shall be performed in the best manner
by skilled worknen; and both are subject to the ap royal of the

GENEReJs CONDITIONS
The drawings and these specifications shall be taken as co-operative
and anything shown in the drawings and not mentioned in the specifi-
cations, or vice versa, shall be included the same as though shown
and specified.
The Contractors biddincr on this work are expected to thoroughly
examine the drawn as and snecificetiors, and the site of the pro-
posed work, and to be sure that they have before tenderinc! pro-
posals, a nroner understandine of the aHount and character of the
work to be done for the accepted bidder wil: be bound by everything
mentioned in tree specifications and enown by the drerinEas, except
only where clearly shown under any head that such part or parts
are to be furrisned by other nerties, cr omitted.
Should anything be omitted fro the drawings or specifications
which is necessary to a clear understanding of the work, or should
any error appear, it shall be the duty of the contractor to notify
the Architect before oroceedin with the work. In the event of
the Contractor's failing to file such notice he shall mel‹e ood any
damage to his work caused thereby.

MAE ON'S S li XIFICATIONS
Do all exeavating of whatever kind necessary to carry out the
work as shown. Build foundation as shown by foundation elan and
sections. Fill and water tamp to receive concrete slab for first
floor.
GRADING:
In excavating for foundation, all of soil removed. for footing or
walls or piers, also six inches of the top soil inside of founda-
tion shall be placed outside of the foundation to raise the grade
around the house at building line.
Concrete used for footings, floors, etc. shall be one part approved
Portland Cement , t, parts clean, sharp sand and 4 parts broken rook
between -" and ��' in size. All concrete shall be properly machine
mixed. Concrete shall be deposited in the forms in such a scanner
as not to separate the mortar from the broken stone. Forms shall be
made of boards I" thick, properly lined and leveled. Reinforcement
as shown by plans. For floors and sidewalks 1" topping; of cement
and sand mortar, 1 to 2 mix, where color is called for, it shall be
mineral color -mix troweled into topping.
All reinforcing; steel to be medium Open Hearth stell, rolled from
new stock and to meet the i:lanufacturer•'s Standard Specifications.
Steel shall have an ultimate Strength of from 60,000 lbs. to 70,000
pounds per square inch, with an elastic limit of not less than half
the ultimate strength. all steel to be free from paint and oil and
while a li rust will not he objectionable, no steel shall be used
which shows a heavy rust or scale.
CEMENT BLOCKS:
Cement blocks s hall be C"x"x16" underwriter's approved, thoroughly
cured and pass required teats of Building Department of Miami.
BRICK AND CEn N`f BLOCK V ORK :
All brick work, cel. eht block and tile work shall be done as shown by
drawings, in a first class and workmanlike manner.
',ORTAR :
All mortar for the brick and tile work to be made of Florida I. :rasons
Cement Mortar ready prepared for mixing.
CEMENT:
Shall be Portland Cement and shall meet requirements of American
Society for Testing Materials.

STUCCO
STUCCO 7 0RK:
After the exterior walls have been cleaned of all luitence and repaired
the masonry walls shall receive 2 coats of ce'nent as hereinafter
specified. All stucco shall be finished to approved texture as directed.
The first scratch coat of stucco ssa71 be composed of one part ?ortland
Cement, 2 parts sand. The coat to be applied directly to msconry wall
surface, fillinF out all hollow places and brought to a uniform plane
and scratched to receive the finish coat. Twenty-four hours should
elapse before applying finished coat.
The finishing coat shall be compOsed of one part ceuent, 2 parts
white sand, mixtd and tempered to the proper consistency with water,
to which has been added Crystex Waterproofing paste, as per Manufacturer's
specifications.

PLASTERING
The work required under this section comprises all labor and material
to complete the lathing and plastering, all exterior stucco, all cement
ornaments, all tinting of stucco, and all tbings requisite or necessary
to do a complete lob of interior plaster and stucco work as shown
on plans and called for in this specifications or as obviously necessary
to make a complete first class job.
Lath the walls, all furred and stud partitions with perforated rock lath
and nail with galvanized large flat head lath nulls properly breaking
joints. All joints to be adc solid before lathing fnd - reinforced with
CLINTON 3/8" mesh cl:alvanized with lath returning r each way. Ceilings
to be lathed with A" Cellotex thermal insulation plaster bsce board,
nailed directly to ceiling joists with galvanized large heao nails and
in accordance with Manufacturer ' specifications. Other insulating
board and plaster Lase will be accepted If approved. by -rchitect.
The entire interior of building unless otherwise provided for shall
be plastered 2 coats of Acme Fluster, or approved equal, and finished
to approved texture finish., after brown coat has thoroughly set.
Use only clean, sharp, white sand in the finisl . The directions of
theManufacturer in regard to mixing on611 he strictly somplied with,
all plastering to be brought out flush with the grounds. ,11 angles
shall be :parked with mitreinj_ tool. To be a perfect job in every respect.
All patching of plaster work requAred .fter other crafts-en have fin-
ished their work, and must be executed by the plasterer in a very
neat manner, le:,IvinF neither marks, cracks, nor stains at any point.

CLEANING:

defined in Section 305.3 of the South Florida Building Code
on April 14, 1994 at the above referenced project.
The purpose of our inspection was to determine the uplift
capacity of the existing roof tiles at the above referenced
project.
On April 14, 1994 our field engineer visited the site and
conducted Fourty -five uplift tests on the roof tiles. All
tests were performed according to the South Florida Building
Code Section 3404.3 and protocol PA 106 -94. The following is
a summary of results :
