The panels shall consist of 24 ga galvanized and painted steel. The door is supported by vertical
posts that can bend as the door is opened and closed but lock in place to resist up to 74 MPH wind
loading. Additional pins shall be placed at joints when wind velocity is expected to be greater than
74 MPH.
3. Wood in contact with concrete or cement shall be treated with an approved preservative
as set forth in Paragraph 2913.2 (a) (1) or shall be a durable specie as defined in
Sub - paragraph 2913. (a)(6)(aa) of the South Florida Building Code.

Dear Mr. Diamond:
We have designed a method for anchoring the 2x6 vertical,
pressure treated wood jambs of the referenced doors to the
supporting structure to facilitate compliance with Note 1
of the approved drawings, and Item 5 of the Specific
Conditions on the Product Control Notice of Acceptance.
Based on our calculations, the wood jambs may be anchored
to the supporting structure with 3/8" diameter stud type
expansion anchors with a 1 5/8" minimum concrete
embedment, installed at a distance not to exceed 8" from
each end and spaced at 24" on center. A minimum concrete
edge of 2 1/2" shall be provided.
A copy of the calculations and other pertinent information
are available on request for your review.
