Last year, I was visited and instructed by one of your village
staff to make improvements to my garage,
In January, 1969, I requested a permit to put in plumbing and
electrical, and the required improvements to bring it up to
Miami Shores standards. This was granted, only with certain
stipulations,
Since I am not structurally changing the building, these
stipulations do not apply. Section 401 and 404, Article 1V,
Page 8.. „nor shall any existing building be structurally
altered.
Also, this building has existed for many years and its structure
is sound and safe, having withstood many years of hurricanes,
etc.
I am conforming with Section 524 (a), (b), Page 16...kept in
repair, provided no structural alterations are made that would
enlarge the floor area of the building.
Therefore, under the existing ordinance, I have a legal right
and am entitled to a plumbing and electrical permit.
This is a necessity and an asset to the property and in line
with Miami Shores standards. As it stands now, it is absolutely
worthless to me, whsle I am still paying taxes on it.
By not granting this permit, I feel I am being unjustly, unfair-
ly treated, and discriti.nnated against.
Your further consideration in granting me this permit will be
appreciated,
