A.I.A. Form A-2. (Rev, 9 -1 -51) except as eliminated, changed or modified, as follows: These General Conditions shall apply to the construction of this building as though copied herein in full. Copy of same may be obtained upon application to the Architect. Article 24 - Application for 2ayments: Article 24 is amended by adding the following: 1. On or before the first and fifteenth day of each month, the Contractor may submit to the Architect statements in triplicate of the work done and materials supplied by him during the period preceding since the last re- quisition of statement was rendered. 2. After the first payment and before the Owner will make any other payment to the Contractor, the Contractor shall produce and deliver to the Owner satisfactory proof or evidence that all labor performed and materials furnished up to the date of the preceding statement have been fulls paid for and that as of the said date no claims exist which might result in liens on the building. The Owner may waive this provision. Acceptance and Final Payment 1. Upon receipt of written notice that work is ready for final inspection and acceptance, and submission by the Contractor of requisition for payment, the Architect shall inspect, the work and if said Architect finds the work acceptable and the contract fully performed, the Architect shall issue to the Contractor an acceptance• and approve said requisition for payment and the Owner shall pay, within 15 days of approval, to the Contractor, the balance due him Under this Contract as hereinabove provided. 2.. Beforeissuance of the final certificate, the Contractor shall submit evidence satisfactory to the Architect, that all payrolls, material bills and other indebtedness con- nected with the Work have been paid. Article. 27 - Contractor's Liability Insurance: Article 27 is amended by adding the following: 1. The Contractor will be required to show proof of carnage of adequate workmen's Compensation Insurance. 2. The Contractor shall procure and carry Public Liability Insurance against injury to person or persons in the sum of not less than $100,000 for injury to any one person and not less than `fi200,000 covering any one accident; and shall insurance against property damage in an amount of` 5,000. as a minimum coverage. Such insurance shall cover and protect Sub - contractors by ruder, certificate or separate policy. 3. The Owner will carry Hurricane and Fire Insurance. Section B- General ' onditions 4. He shall be familar with the requirements as set forth therein and shall cooperate with all other trades on the building. In case of discrepancy in any drawings; this contractor shall submit same to the general contractor for adjustment by the architect, No deviation from the drawings - shall be permitted without writtenpermission from the architect. Exterior Stucco: All exterior walls other than slump brick shall be stuccoed. All Stucco work shall be applied in accordance with the "Handbook of Recommended Specifications for Lathing, Furring and Plastering" on dampened walls and shall be 3 coat work to produce a' minimum thick- ness of 5/8 ",each coat being free from cracks. The finish coat shall be smooth even surface with no modulations or texture. All stucco mortar shall be of 2 parts clean sharp sand to . 1 part Portland Cem- ent to which shall be added Anti -Hydro water proofing or approved equal in accordance with manufacturer's directions. No lime shall be used in stucco mortar except when running molds or building up to more than 1" thickness when not more than 1 shovel of lime to the sack shall be used. All walls shall bewet down with a hose before applying the coat and again before application of the finish coat, then, often enough thereafter to prevent premature drying. Any wire lath used in connection with stucco shall be not less than 20 ga. and shall have been galvanized after being woven. Interior Lath and Plaster: All lath for interior walls shall be 3/8" Rocklath applied according to the manufacturer's directions. Ceiling lath to have aluminum foil on one side. Ceilings of rooms larger than 10' x 10' shall have two strips of gal- vanized wire lath stretched diagonally across from corner to corner of room. Above all doors and windows across corners, this contractor to nail a strip of wire lath to stop cracks. Metal and Wire Lath: Wherever metal or wire lath is used, use not less than 20 ga. Clinton cloth. Theplacing of wire lath and skim coat for the preparation of tile work will be part of this contract, however, the tile contractor shall furnish and place the scratch coat and setting bed. 8.1 Lath and Plaster Lath and Plaster (continued) Finish: A11 rough plastering, and above wainscoting, where called for, shall be followed with lime putty gauged with gypsum to give a hard, true, smooth finish suitable for painting or applying wall- paper. All interior plastering shall be two coat work. Finish of plaster shall be as shown on finish schedule. Generally: All walls and ceilings are to be stuccoed or plastered, as called for. The General Contractor shall provide anderect all scaffolding for exterior stucco and plaster work, but the plastering contractor shall furnish all scaffolding necessary for interior work. All plastering and stuccoing must be straight and true. Interior plastering shall be horizontal on ceilings and plumb on walls.
