OF TI-4E HOUSE AS A BARRIER THIS METHOD, AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE, SHALL REQUIRE
COMPLIANCE WITH ARTICLE 4242.11 OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE.
ACCESS THROUGH THE BARRIER SHALL BE THROUGH SELF CLOSING, SELF
LATCHING GATES COMPLYING WITH THE ABOVE INDICATED ARTICLE.
IF A PART OF THE HOUSE IS TO BE USED AS THE BARRIER, ALL DOORS
AND WINDOWS WITH DIRECT ACCESS TO T1-4E POOL SHALL BE EQUIPPED
WITH AN EXIT ALARM COMPLYING WITH UL 2011 THAT 1-IA6 A MINIMUM
SOUND PRESSURE RATING OF 85 dB A AT 10 FEET AND IS EITHER HARD
WIRED OR OF THE PLUG -IN TYPE. THE EXIT ALARM SHALL PRODUCE A
CONTINUOUS AUDIBLE WARNING WI-EN THE DOOR AND ITS SCREEN ARE
OPENED. THE ALARM SHALL SOUND IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE DOOR IS
OPENED AND BE CAPABLE OF BEING HEARD THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE
DURING NORMAL HOUSEHOLD ACTIVITIES. THE ALARM 5HALL BE
EQUIPPED WITH A MANUAL MEANS TO TEMPORARILY DEACTIVATE THE
ALARM FOR A SINGLE OPENING. SUCH pEACTIVATION SHALL LAST
NO LONGER THAN 15 SECONDS. THE DEACTIVATION SWITCH SHALL BE
LOCATED AT LEAST 54 INCHES ABOVE THE THRESHOLD OF THE DOOR
2. A SAFETY NET OR COVER SHALL BE INSTALLED COMPLETELY COVERING THE
SURFACE OF THE POOL AND /OR SPA THEREBY PREVENTING ACCESS TO THE
WATER THE NET OR COVER SHALL BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH ASTM F1346 -91.
3. A CHILD SAFETY FENCE (KIDDIE FENCE) A MINIMUM OF 48 INCHES IN HEIGHT SHALL
BE INSTALLED AROUND THE PERIMETER OF TI-4E POOL PREVENTING ACCESS TO TI-4E
WATER FROM ALL DIRECTIONS. THE SAFETY FENCE SHALL BE PERMANENTLY INSTALLED
AT ONE END WHICH CAN ONLY BE REMOVED BY TOOLS.
4. A COMBINATION OF THE PERIMETER FENCE AND CHILD FENCE MAY BE USED TO
PREVENT ACCESS TO THE POOL PROVIDED THE CHILD FENCE IS INSTALLED IN
COMPLIANCE WITH ITEM 3 ABOVE.
1. A PERMANENT SAFETY WARNING SIGN 54-1ALL BE PROVIDED AT
ALL SWIMMING POOL AND SPA AREAS READILY VISIBLE FROM THE
POOL AREA IN ACCORDANCE WITH APENDIX F AN81/NSPI -5 -95.
2. THE WARNING SIGN, AS PER ITEM 1 ABOVE, SHALL WARN AGAINST
SHALLOW WATER DIVING, TI-4E PREVENTION OF DROWNING AND SHALL
INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT:
"THERE 15 NO SUBSTITUTION FOR ADULT SUPERVISION OF SMALL
CHILDREN. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT AT LEAST ONE ADULT
RENDERING CHILD SUPERVISION BE TRAINED IN ARTIFICIAL RESPIRATION
AND /OR CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPU)."
