I am writing regarding the above referenced notice of violation pertaining to expired
permit WS -10 -09 -1746. The permit should have been closed by the contractor as
the contract was cancelled due to the contractor's failure to deliver. On September
7, 2009, my husband and I entered into a contract with Florida Home Improvement
Associates (FHA) for a new front door for our home. We gave FHA a substantial de-
posit and were advised that they requested a permit from the Village. They obtained
permit #WS -10 -09 -1746.
We expected that delivery and installation would take 8 to 10 weeks. In November
we began our communications with FHA regarding delivery of our door. Finally in
March, after many different excuses, stories, and delays, we were flatly told they no
longer sold the door. We requested and did receive our deposit. Apparently, FHA
did not notify your department of the cancellation of the contract and did not close
out the permit. Please close out the permit as the work was not done.
