JALCO has filed with this office an application #93- 0122.5 with the required and a:
test data to support the approval of their Aluminum Storm Panels measuring 12 " wide with edge -laps
forming 1.94" deep ribs and fabricated of 3004 -H34 aluminum alloy.
Test data submitted allows these panels to be installed in non coastai zonr, a,eas only and to
elevations as indicated in corresponding schedules on approved drawing #92-137 Page 1/1, not to
exceed a maximum of 100 feet above grade. Valid until Jan. 1, 1994 when Section 6
of ANSI/ASCE 7 -88 will be adopted by SFBC.
The maximum span, construction and method of installation of the panels shall be as shown in
the schedule and detail:; in the approved drawing #92 -137 Page 1/1, dated 11 -19 -92 and revised on
11- 19 -92.
Applications for building permit shall be accompanied by two copies of the approved
drawing #92 -137 Page 1/1 clearly marked to indicate panel gauge, maximum span and type of
installation. Also a drawing showing size and location, including height above grade, of openings to
receive shutters, and a completely dimensioned plot plan.
In order for a permit to be issued, zoning regulations must be complied with.
Due to Hurricane Andrew, this office has been inundated with requests for both new products
and renewals which has caused a large backlog in responding with an official Notice of Acceptance.
Therefore, in the interim period, please accept this letter in allowing these panels to be
installed until permanent approval is issued, and contingent to future impact load test requirement.
