CODE 3404.3 The purpose of this quality control test is to confirm that there exists sufficient bonding by the adhesive to the tile and underlayment in the tile system applied; it will be determined whether 75% of the tile bonds to be tested in three different roof areas, provides sufficient resistance to an arbitrary static uplift load applied on the tile. This procedure will satisfy the Building Code Compliance requirements set forth in Protocol PA 106. Tiles have been tested on three different roof areas: field, perimeter and comer areas. Prior to testing, dimensions of these areas were determined and recorded according to Chapter 23 of South Florida Building Code. Tiles selected at random from the three different areas, were lifted by hand, in order to test for loose components. LOAD APPLICATION: An arbitrary load of 35 Ibf. has been applied to each tile, holding the Toad for 5 seconds. The roof consists of insulated panels. These panels shall be composite sandwich panels comprised of exterior facings, top and bottom, of 0.037" thick (stucco embossed) aluminum alloy 3105 -H254 with 3.0" thick expanded polystyrene foam plastic cores manufactured by Apache products Company (Dade County approval #95- 0626.01). The panel core shall have a nominal density of 1.0 Ib. /ft . The panels are manufactured in 3.0" thickness and 47.25" maximum width. The adhesive top and bottom shall be Mor -Ad M -464 Urethane Prepolymer Solution produced by Morton International, Inc. The supporting frame is made of aluminum (6063 -T6 alloy) extruded beams and columns. Tillit Jr., P.E., bearing the Dade County Product Control approval stamp. 2.0 INSTALLATION: The panels shall be used for the installation of screen rooms with screened walls, as shown on Drawing Number 97 -109 sheets 1 through 6 of 6 dated 04/09/97, revision #2 dated 12/01/97, signed and sealed on 12/01/97 by Walter A. Tillit Jr., P.E., bearing the Dade County Product Control approval stamp. This screen room shall be attached to a structure at ground level adequate to provide support to the design vertical and horizontal loads imposed by the screen room. 3.0 LIMITATIONS: These structures may be used as a screen room in connection with Group I occupancy when deflection is limited to span/80 and the roof projection from the existing structure is less than or equal to 12 ft. as detailed in Subsection 2303.3(g) of the South Florida Building Code. Panels limited to a deflection of span/l80 may be used on roofs of screen rooms with projection greater than 12.0 ft. as detailed in Subsection 2303.3(0 of the South Florida Building Code. These screen room structures can be attached to the masonry wall but not to the fascia or eave of the roof. Screen room mean roof height above ground level shall be 15 feet or less. Renewal of this Acceptance (approval) shall be considered after a renewal application has been filed and the original submitted documentation, including test supporting data, engineering documents, are no older than eight (8) years. 2. Any and all approved products shall be permanently labeled with the manufacturer's name, city, state, and the following statement: "Dade County Product Control Approved ", or as specifically stated in the specific conditions of this Acceptance. 3. Renewals of Acceptance will not be considered if: a) There has been a change in the South Florida Building Code affecting the evaluation of this product and the product is not in compliance with the code changes; b) The product is no longer the same product (identical) as the one originally approved; c) If the Acceptance holder has not complied with all the requirements of this acceptance, including the correct installation of the product; d) The engineer who originally prepared, signed and sealed the required documentation initially submitted , is no longer practicing the engineering profession. 4. Any revision or change in the materials, use, and/or manufacture of the product or process shall automatically be cause for termination of this Acceptance, unless prior written approval has been requested (through the filing of a revision application with appropriate fee) and granted by this office. 5. Any of the following shall also be grounds for removal of this Acceptance: a) Unsatisfactory performance of this product or process; b) Misuse of this Acceptance as an endorsement of any product, for sales, advertising or any other purposes. 6. The Notice of Acceptance number preceded by the words Dade County, Florida, and followed by the expiration date may be displayed in advertising literature. If any portion of the Notice of Acceptance is displayed, then it shall be done in its entirety. 7. A copy of this Acceptance as well as approved drawings and other documents, where it applies, shall be provided to the user by the manufacturer or its distributors and shall be available for inspection at the job site at all times. The copies need not be resealed by the engineer. 8. Failure to comply with any section of this Acceptance shall be cause for termination and removal of Acceptance. 9. Unless specifically indicated in the Acceptance (approval), this unit is approved as a single unit installation. For multiple installation of this unit, a separate Acceptance for mullions is required from the Product Control Section. 11. The spacing of fasteners at window sills shall be as tested. The spacing of fasteners in all other parts of the frame, shall be as tested, but in no case shall exceed 24" on center. The first fastener shall be located at a maximum of 6" from each corner and mullion or stile. Fastener shall fully penetrate the buck, which shall be the same size as the one tested with the unit. No wood or plastic shields or pins shall be used for anchoring. See section four (4) of this approval for sizes of fasteners used in testing. 12. Hardware for all windows and doors shall conform to Security and Forced Entry Prevention, Chapter 36 of the South Florida Building Code.
