Miami -Dade County Chapter 8 Section 8 -11 requires all existing buildings and structures to be recertified at age forty (40) and then subsequently at ten (10) year intervals. Within ninety (90) days of receiving the Notice of Required Inspection/Certification, the owner of the building or structure subject to recertification is required to furnish to the Building Official a written report prepared by a Professional Architect or Engineer certifying that each building or structure is structurally and electrically safe, or has been made structurally and electrically safe. The Notice of Required Inspection /Certification was mailed return receipt requested and signed for on June 29, 2005 (over one - hundred - twenty days ago). If the structure is not inspected and a written report submitted to the Building Official within thirty (30) days, the Village will be forced to have the structure declared unsafe. By the provisions of Miami -Dade County Chapter 8 Section 5, you are responsible for all Unsafe Structure's enforcement costs, including appellate costs incurred by Miami Shores Village. The property will be subject to a lien for those costs if payment is not made upon request of the department. They were found to be of deficient levels and within required parameters. The levels measured .3 maximum at the farthest point and .85 near source. The illumination of the parking lot does not meet the requirements of the Miami -Dade Building County Building code ordinance 96-171 and the Florida Building Code. As a routine matter, in order to avoid possible misunderstanding, nothing in this report should be construed directly or indirectly as a guarantee for any portion of the lighting system. All proposals should give the lump sum price and unit prices for the work; and must be signed and executed by the Bidder. PROTECTION OF THE WORK AND PROPERTY: Add to Article 12 of the General Conditions the following: He shall protect all adjacent properties from injury or loss aris- ing in connection with the Contract. The entire operation shall be at the Contractor's risk concerning the damaging or loss of any material whether incorporated or unin- corporated in the building, except as otherwise noted under Article 29 of the General Conditions. It is anticipated that the paving for parking and driveways will be completed under a separate contract before work is commenced on the chapel. Any cutting of, or damage to the paving, during the General Construction work by the Contractor or his subeon:,..,4_,- tractors shall be replaced or repaired to the satisfaction of the Architect. D. GUARANTY BONDS: Omit Article 30 of the General Conditions and substitute the following: The Contractor agrees to deliver to the Owner upon the signing of the Contract Documents, a bond covering the faithful performance of the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising there- under; the bond shall be with a Corporate Surety in a form satis- factory to the Owner. Bond shall also guarantee work and material for one year after completion of the Contract. 2.1 • • D. GUARANTY BONDS: (conttd.) The bond so given shall be in full amount of the Contract. All premiums shall be paid by the Contractor, and evidence shall be produced to Owner and Architect that the parent Bonding Company= has agreed to bond the Contractor. E. SUB - CONTRACTS: Omit the first two paragraphs of Article 36 of the General Con- ditions and substitute the following: The Contractor shall, within a reasonable time, give to the Architect in writing, the names of sub - contractors proposed for the principal parts of the work, and for such other parts as the Architect may direct, and shall not at any time enter into Con- tract with any sub - contractors without the written approval of the Architect, or with any sub - contractors who may be objected to by the Architect as incompetent or unfit. F. RELATIONS OF CONTRACTOR D SUBCONTRACTOR: Add the following paragraph to Article 37 of the General Conditions: The subcontractor agrees - To examine, as to its proper condition, any connecting or preceding work which is in any way related to their work, and report in writing to the Contractor any defects or deficiency in the same. Failure to give such notice shall be considered as an acceptance of the condition of such existing work and of its suitability for receiving the new work and will act as a waiver of any claims to the contrary. He shall also, during the progress of the work, build in, attach or connect any parts or materials which may be furnished to him which should be secured to or enter into the construction of the work, and shall supply to other subcontractors any and all parts or materials necessary for their work which are to be installed by other subcontractors. He shall also be bound by the condito ions of Article 36 of the General Conditions. G. RESPONSIBILITY REGARDING CONSTRUCTION, MATERIALS ETC. The following Article is added to the General Conditions: Should the Contractor object to the method or strength of the construction, the methods of procedure or the materials speci- fied, he shall have the same adjusted before entering into this contract with the Owner. Procedure without such notice shall be construed as an acceptance of the contract drawings and specifi- cations and a waiver of all claims to the contrary. If, after the work is underway, the contractor should object to any of the methods or strength of the construction, the method of procedure, or the materials specified on any of full size or other detail drawings or specifications that may be issued by the Architect to fluitler carry out the work, he shall so notify 2.2 • 1 G. Should the Owner occupy a portion of the building before the Architect's certification, any consumption by the Owner of .- water or electricity shall be adjusted. SANITARY ARRANGEMENTS: The following Article is added to the General Conditions: The Contractor shall provide, install and maintain for duration of work as required, adequate temporary toilet facilities for all workmen employed on the site of the project. The facilities shall be kept in a clean, dry and sanitary condition acceptable to the Architect, and all legally constituted authorities at all times. J. LAYING OUT WORK: The following Article is added to the General Conditions: The Contractor shall employ an authorized Registered Engineer to locate all necessary property and party lines and levels, and shall be responsible for the proper location of the building in accordance with this data and with any supplementary data as shown on drawings. He shall give all the necessary lines, levels, loca- tions and measurements to all on the work, and he will be held responsible for their accuracy, and no pleas as to the acts, orders, directions or supervision of the Architect or any other person employed by him shall be admitted justification of any error of construction or departure from the terms of the contract unless such orders or directions were explicitly given in writing by the Architect or his representative. Grass, trees and shrubs damaged due to neglect, shall be replaced at no cost to Owner. 3. Excavations: Make excavations to size and depth, as required :'for proper execution of work. Footings shall rest on undis- turbed earth and may be poured in clean -cut excavations with- out caved -in banks. Clean -out all pot holes in rock. 4. Back - filling: Back -fill as soon as sub -grade work is in place and has had time to set. Fill thoroughly wet and compacted. a. Material removed from excavations may be used if approved by the Architect. 5. Filling (Pit-Rock): Deposit fill in six inch layers, wet down and compact thoroughly. Apply, by pressure spray, the solution as follows: a. All under -slab areas: One (1) gallon per ten (10) sq. ft. of area. b. Surface water contained in aggregate must be included as part of mixing water 6.1 SECTION 6 -- CONCRETE and CEMENT (Continued) C. EXECUTION OF WORK: (Contfd) in computing water - cement ratio. The combined aggregate shall be of such composition of sizes that when separated on a No.. !} standard sieve, the weight retained on the sieve shall be not less than one -third nor more than two - thirds of the total, nor the amount of coarse material shall be such as to produce Ershness in placing or honey- combing in the structure. Consistency of concrete at point of a delivery when subjected to the standard slump test shall have a minimum slump of 3 inches and a maximum of 5 inches. b. Mixing Concrete: (1) Machine mix concrete in a batch mixer of approved type. A water storage and measuring device shall be provided on the mixer. Mixing of each batch of con- crete shall continue for at least 1 -1/2 minutes after all materials are in the mixer, during which time the mixer should rotate at a peripheral speed of about 200 ft. per minute. (2) Ready -mixed concrete shall conform to the Standard specifications of the A.S.T.M. C94, latest edition. (3) All concrete for floor slabs poured on fill, and walls below finished grade shall be waterproofed with the integral waterproofing compound,in propor- tion of one gallon waterproofing to each cubic yard of concrete. Testing and Inspection: a. The Architect shall have free access to the points where concrete materials and stored, proportioned or mixed, and all materials, equipment and methods used shall be sub - ject to his inspection, test and approval. b. The Contractor shall notify the laboratory employed by the Owner at least 24 hours before each pour so that test cylinders may be made. t. Damp proofing plastic; Lay on compacted fill under and pre- vious to pouring of concrete slab. Lap all joints of plastic at least tie. Lay plastic under interior slabs only. 5. Water and foreign matter shall be removed from forms and excavations, and unless otherwise directed, wood forms and earth base shall be thoroughly wet just before the concrete is deposited on them. d. Concrete shall be transported from the mixer to place of final deposit as rapidly as practical by methods which will prevent separation of ingredients and displacement of rein- forcement and which will avoid rehandling. Partially hardened concrete shall not be deposited in the work. e. Internal and external mechanical vibrators and hand spacing shall be used as necessary to produce the required concrete quality and finish. Care shall be taken that vibration is not applied long enough to separate the ingredients. Honey- combed work will be repaired by Guniting at the discretion of the Architect. f. Work shall be laid out so that each slab and beam shall be poured in one operation. Make construction joints vertical. Before pouring, the location of all construction joints shall be determined and their location shall be submitted to the Architect for approval. g. Before placing concrete adjoining construction joints, sur- face of joint already in place shall be picked, brushed, clean and given a heavy coat of neat cement grout. 7. Finishing concrete: a. Immediately after removing forms, cut off all metal form ties at least 3/4't back from surface of concrete, wet and fill all holes and voids with cement mortar, 1:2 mix. Color of cement mortar used for filling holes and voids shall be same as concrete to which it is applied. Rub smooth all filled surfaces with a carborundum stone. b. Any joints created by formwork shall be rubbed smooth at the discretion of the Architect. • • SECTION 6 -- CONCRETE AND CEMENT (Continued) EXECUTION OF WORK: (Conttd) 8. Cement floor finishes: a. Surface screeded to an even, true, level plane end floated to a smooth finish before the rough :slab has set up hard. (1) Concrete floors and steps not to receive applied floor materials. a. After concrete has been leveled from the floated surface, a mixture of 2 sacks of Horundum aggre- gate thoroughly dry mixed with 1 sack of Portland cement shall be sprinkled or shaken at the rate of 45 lbs. per 100 sq. ft. of the floor area to be hardened and floated in. b. Surface shall be allowed to harden and then burn- ished with a steel trowel. (2) Concrete floors to receive composition flooring: a. No dust -on shall be used. Prepare surface as in 7 a. above and burnish with steel trowels. 9. Curing of Concrete: a. Finished concrete work protected at all times during con- struction and the whole kept damp for at least a week after it has been poured. b. All finished slabs, as soon as hardened, shall be covered with sand and kept wet for 7 days, or sprayed with an approved curing agent. D. PRESTRESSED CONCRETE PLANK 1. Prestressed hollow core plank designed in accordance with Prestressed Concrete Institute STD 110 -61, with prestressing strands equivalent to ASTN A 416 -59T 2. Fabrication and erection by R.H. Wright Inc., with grouting by Masonry Contractor after erection using 1 part cement to 3 parts sand. 3. Where exposed, welds shall be ground smooth. d. Riveting, where exposed, shall be flush unless otherwise specified or. .shown. e. Bolting where permitted, shall be done with proper size bolts. Nuts shall be drawn tight and threads upset. f. Do all drilling, cutting, fitting and punching necessary for erection and the application of hardware. g. Entire roof areas shall be first covered with 1 - 30 lb. roofing felt. Felt. shall be applied to have at least a 6" horizontal and vertical lap, with vertical joints staggered and tin- tagged. Felt on ridges shall lap at least 12" both ways. Follow with 90 lb. slate surfaced roll roofing swab- bed with pitch. All roof areas shown as having tile shall be covered with shingle (clay) tile as manufactured by Ludowici - Celadon Co., pattern designer, untrimmed butts. interlocking,full color range scored red tile. Gutters, flashing and counter flashing, 16 oz. lead- coated cooper, Gutter linings with no longitudinal seams, joined by 3/4" wide cross seams locked and soldered. Gutters shall be connected to leaders with tubes of proper length. E . SPIRE TOWER AND COLUMN CAPS: 1. Facings and flashings shall be constructed of 16 oz. cold rolled copper sbeets coated on both sides with lead weighing 6 to 7 -1/2 pounds per 100 sq. ft. each side. 'Moulded portions and seams shall be as detailed. Cover sub - surfaces with 30 lb. asphalt saturated roofing felt before installation of copper. G. Column Caps 1. MISCELLANJEOUS SHEET METAL WORK: Sheet Metal items not covered elsewhere in this section shall be as indicated and as required to provide a water -tight installation. Formed sheet metal for metal covered work shall accurately reproduce the the detail and design indicated. Profiles, bends, and inter- sections shall be sharp, even, and true. (rui RING. ) a - Wood stripping shall be provided on interior face of all ex- terior masonry walls throughout in finished areas, as well as at interior walls and partitions with surfaces aligning exter- ior walls. Stripping to be of 1" x 2" surfaced material, set straight in alignment and secured in place to take plaster lath or wood paneling. b- Provide blocking for fastening stripping, finish millwork, or secaring work of all other subcontractors, or of work shown but not in this contract. 9. GROUNDS. Provide wood grounds of the exact thicknesses for the types of plastering specified; 5/8" for masonry walls, 3 /4" for metal lath, and 7/8" and 1" for gypsum lath. INTERIOR FINISH All interior finish shall be premium grade formed of materials specified above and delivered at the building ready to set in place. The material shall be worked in the best manner known to the trade; tenoned, dowelled, blocked and glued together so as to avoid the use of nails as much as possible; mouldings shall be clean cut, sharply defined and miters accurately made. All joints shall be made on the miter as far as possible. Plain butt joints without an approved device for preventing separation at joints will not be accepted. Nails and screws where necessary, shall be concealed. All nailing shall be concealed. All nailing shall be blind nailed wherever possible, but where not possible, the nailing shall be located and driven so as not to be visible in the finish. All interior woodwork, except as noted, shall be prepared for painting finish. All inside casing shall be in one length. NOTE: Interior trim shall not be brought into the building until the plastering has dried out. 3. Wood preservative: Treat all lumber, doors, and cabinets by dipping in wood preservative for not less than three minute: for each inch of thickness. Apply two dripping brush coats of preservative where lumber is cut during assembly or installation and to that portion of lumber coming in contact with masonry. Provide cabinet in Sacristy with doors, shelves and rawers as detailed. Sprinkle base coat lightly with water if necessary. b. Gypsum Plaster. 1) Brown coat: 1 part gypsum neat plaster and not.more than 3 parts sand, by weight. Apply brown coat up to screeds or grounds, well rodded, screeded and floated with all angles true, straight and plumb, and just back of the grounds. First coat on gypsum lath. 2) Plaster finish coat: Mix 100 lbs. Regular Keene's Cement 400 lbs. of sand, 70 qta. of lime putty. Scratch in thoroughly and double back to an even surface. Float sur- face with ruaber_Flo$t to true even surface free from slick spots. 3) Smooth Plaster finish coat: Mix 100 lbs. of Fast Finish Keene's cement and 70 qts. of lime putty. Scratch in thoroughly, double back and fill out to true even plane. Allow to draw a few minutes, wet trowel to a hard smooth surface. Continue trowelling as finish starts to set. 1}) Ornamental run plaster moulding shall be straight and true to details shown. Sections of dentils or special shapes may be cast sections. No joining may snow after installa- tion. c. Cement Plaster: 1) On Masonry: (Interior Stucco) a) Two coat job required. b) Use same mix as specified for finish coat of stucco and float surface. c) Fill in low spots in masonry and double back bringing entire area to a smooth even surface. 2) On Metal Lath: a) Three -coat job required, mix for all coats same as stucco. b) Apply first coat with sufficient pressure to obtain good key, lightly covering lath. Scratch surface. Hair may be added to mix for this coat. c) Apply second coat to true even plane just back of surface of screeds. Finish coat: Use same mix as above and add waterproofing according to manufacturerts directions. c. Clean and evenly wet masonry surfaces before applying stucco, applying following coat: Keep finish coat damp for at least 4 days and allow to dry out. d. Finish coat shall be given float finish. 7. Preparation for Tile Work: a. Apply metal lath and scratch coat of cement plaster behind all tile wainscots and base. 8. Acoustical Treatment. "Audicote" Acoustical Plastic. a - Application: The ceilings where shown or called for, shall be treated with the acoustical material specified, applied in one troweled coat, and one sprayed on, to a total thickness of 2", in accordance with the manufac— turer's directions. The acoustical material shall be applied directly on the brown coat. The last coat shall be sprayed on. b. Finish: At completion of the acoustic treatment, the surface shall be sprayed with two coats of Texolite Stand-. and Paint (casein flat paint ) or approved equal, of selected color, furnished and applied by the painting contractor to the approval of the acoustical treatment contractor. When ready to lay tile, sweep off excess water and brush neat cement grout over area to receive mortar setting bed. b. Tile on horizontal surfaces: 1. Mortar setting bed of 1 part cement and 3 to 4 parts sand shall be bonded to concrete sub - floor. It shall be not less than 314" thickness, spread until the surface of setting bed is absolutely true and even in plane, either levelled or uniformly sloped for drainage, as required. After mortar setting bed has been floated flush with guide strips, a skin coat of neat cement mixed with water shall be trowelled to the setting bed or to back of each tile unit, immediately before tiles are placed. Tiles firmly secured in place and beaten in with all finished surfaces brought to true and plumb planes. 3. As soon as mortar setting bed has sufficiently hardened, tile shall be well washed with clean water prior to grouting. d. Joints, grouting and point: 1. Grout: Neat, waterproofed white cement, a mixture of neat white cement and lime putty, or a mixture of neat white cement and integral waterproofing compound (in proportions recommended by the manufacturer). The grout mixed with water to a consistency of thick cream. 2. Pointing mortar: 1 part waterproofed cement and 2 parts sand. 3. Grouting or pointing for all tile forced into the joints by trowelling, or some suitable method and finished flush and true. All surplus mortar removed before it has set or hardened and face of table left clean. e. General: 1. All tiles thoroughly soaked in clean water before being set. 2. All tile work so laid out that no tiles less than half full size occur. 3. The completed work free from cracked, damaged or broken tile. 4. Upon completion, all tile work thoroughly cleaned in an approved manner. 17.2 SECTION 17 -- TILE and MARBLE WORK (Continued) C. EXECUTION OF WORK: (Cont'd..) • • 2. Marble Work: a. Al?. work shall be in accordance with Marble Institute of America, Inc., Standard Specifications, except as otherwise indicated or specified. b. Shop drawings: Prepare and submit, prior to fabrica- tion, three (3) prints of shop drawings for Arch1 tect's approval. c. Setting marble: Joints for exterior marble, not to exceed 1/8 ", interior marble 1/16 ", point with neat white Portland Cement, properly anchor at setting cement spots. All concealed anchors and attachments are to be rust - resistant and corrosion resistant met- als. Setting cement to be non - staining Portland Cement and accelerator or bonding cement. 3.. Floor mounted toilet enclosures: a. General Toilet compartments shall be Stallpack marble units as manufactured by the Carthage Marble Corporation, Carthage, Missouri. There shall be no posts or head - rails. b. Marble Stiles and partitions shall be of Ozark Grey Veined marble for the men's toilet, and white marble as sel- ected by Architect for women's toilet, polished and drilled for Installation. Include urinal screen in men's toilet. c,. Metal doors Doors shall be flush construction of 22 -gauge cold rolled Steel, 1" thick, with fibre board cores cem- ented under pressure to the inner metal surfaces. Face plates of doors shall have die - formed moulding, mitered and welded at corners. Doors shall be galv- anized, bonderized and coated with a rust - resistant synthetic primer followed by snythetic enamel baked at high temperatures. Color as selected by Architect. d.. Hardware Compartments shalt be fitted with combination keeper and bumper, gravity hinge, slide bar latch, coat hook with rubber- tipped bumper, clip angles with cap natty and brass rods, and paper holder. All hardware shall be of non-ferrous metal, chrominum plated. Name & date stone: a. Stone shall be polished white marble as shown on draw- ings, L" thick, with the letters, "Hattie Henderson McArthur Memorial Chapel - 1965" incised. 17.3 • • SECTION 18 - COMPOSITION FLOORING A. WORK REQUIRED: 1. Vinyl Asbestos tile floors. 2. Cleaning and waxing. B. MATERIALS: 1. Vinyl Asbestos - First quality - 9" x 9" x 1/8 ", Fed. Spec. L- Tm003Lt5 (Com -NBS) . Marbelized colors - Uniform thickness, accurately cut with square edges. 2. Mastic: Waterproof type as recommended by manufacturing of tile. 3. Wax: As recommended by tile manufacturer. C. EXECUTION OF WORK: 1, Apply in accordance with tile manufacturer's directions. 2. This Contractor shall check and approve surface before com- mencing work, and shall clean concrete and fill cracks or holes which will be injurious to tile. 3. Store tile and adhesive in rooms at minimum temperature of 70o for at least 24 hours before installation. Maintain temperature during and for at least 24 hours after instal- lation. L}. Use primer if necessary. 5. Lay tile symmetrically in rooms with tile at walls not less than 1/2 tile. 6. All adhesive appearing on the surface shall be removed, using cleaner recommended by the manufacturers, and shall be broom clean, free of all waste. 7. Wash, wax and machine buff, not less than two weeks after installation. 18.1 B. MATERIALS: SECTION 19 - GLASS and GLAZING A. WORK REQUIRED: 1. Mirrors 2. Glass and glazing of doors and windows. 3. Leaded glass. 4. Medicine cabinet. 19.1 1. Clear Glass - Double strength "B" quality, in all window sash ors. Waves in panes to run horizontally. 2. Leaded Glass. Tinted glass of selected colors to be prov- ce - n ransom over main entrance door in accordance with detail on drawing. Lead comes as shown to be neatly mitred and joined. 3. Mirrors - Polished plate glass 1/4" thick, waterproofed on ack, equal to the product of Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company. 4. Glazing Compounds - Shall be as manufactured by Pecora or equal for wood sash. 5. Samples - Submit for approval, samples of all materials. C. GLAZING: General: Bed all glass exposed to the outside in glazing com- pound, well sprigged and back - bedded. Carefully bed beads, where used. Glass in sash and doors put in with beads furnished by others:: Bed beads on both Glaze wood doors and windows after one field coat of paint has been applied. MIRRORS: Provide polished plate glass 16" x 20" mirrors over each lava- tory in men's toilet and in bride'p room, of sizes .indicated on drawings. Mirrors shall have bevelled edges and applied with chrome - plated clips fastened with ornamental chrome - plated bolts or rosettes. For location, see Architectural drawings. E. MEDICINE CABINET: Furnish and install medicine cabinet over lavatory in women's toilet, Miami Carey, Master Model 2030. F. CLEANING: Remove all labels and paint, and leave all glass clean and in perfect condition. • • SECTION 21 - FINISHING HARDWARE A. WORK REQUIRED: 1. Furnish complete all finishing hardware required in accord - dance with the drawings, and as specified and required,sub- ject to approval. The Contractor shall include the sum set up in Section 2 under "Allowances," for the purchase of the finishing hardware. Owner shall select the hardware and shall be credited with any saving as the selection may war- rant, or will :Hake up the difference if the purchase price shall exceed the allowance. The Contractor will procure proposals and submit for approval. Hardware shall be delivered to the job in unbroken packages and fully scheduled. B. Kind: All paints, enamels, varnishes, etc., shall be the b est representative kinds manufactured by Pittsburgh Plate Glass co., or their approved equal. The materials shall be delivered to the job in the original containers. 2.. Samples: Provide samples for approval of all materials and colors as required. C. EXECUTION OF WORK: 1. Workmanship: a. All materials shall be applied by skilled mechanics and shall be evenly and smoothly flowed on, leaving no superfluous material, sags or runs. b. A11 work shall be clean -cut and all dividing lines that separate colors shall be straight. c. It shall be the responsibility of the Painting Contract- or to examine all surfaces affected by this contract prior to the application of any paint materials. If.. surfaces to be painted are not properly prepared by the General Contractor or sub-contractors for receiving paint, no paint materials shall be applied until sur- faces have been properly prepared. If painting goes bad on accepted surfaces it shall be the responsibility of the Painting Contractor to remedy the condition to the satisfaction of the Owner. 2. Protection of surfaces not to be painted: a. All surfaces not to be painted are to be left clean and free from paint. 3. Storage and mixing of paints: a. Storage and mixing of paint shall be confined to one room or one specified area of the building. 22.1 C. EXECUTION OF WORK: (cont'd.) SECTION 22 - PAINTING (Continued) 14. Materials: a. All materials used on the job by the Painting Contractor shall be delivered to the job in original sealed con- tainers by the Vendor, and it shall be the responsibilit' of the Painting Contractor that material in these pack- ages is as labeled. 5. Colors: a. Each coat of paint as called for in this project shall be varied sufficiently in shade to distinguish the var- ious coats of paint. b. Special attention is called to the following .information in regard to necessary inspections and approvals prior to application of materials. 1) Before any paint materials are applied after prepa- ration has been oompleted. 2) Between all coats - prior to the application of next coat of paint materials. (Caulking and puttying to be included.) Failure to get approval between coats shall nullify all credit for coats previously applied. Appl iostion (General) : a. All individual coats of paint shall be applied in such a manner as to give full coverage. b. The term "Full Coverage" shall be interpreted to mean applying paint over all surfaces in a manner which gives uniform color and sufficient density that it is opaque and all paints shall be applied in this manner. o. All wood and metal surfaces are to be sanded smooth be- tween each .--:!!% coat of paint material applied. This does not apply to surfaces which are to be finished with exterior house paint. d. The term "smooth" shall be interpreted to mean free from all roughness, ridges and projections on the surface. e. In the case of surfaces where pitch or resin has leac through, same shall be removed and surface affected shall receive a heavy coat of approved shellac prior to the application of other paint materials. f. All paints, varnishes, lacquers, enamels and other mate- rials shall be "bone dry" before succeeding materials are applied. This applies to back - priming prior to caulking or puttying. b. Putty: (Wood sash) A minimum of ninety -six (96) hours is allotted to the drying of all putty applied to wood sash. c. Caulking, a minimum of ninety -six (96) hours is allotted to the drying of all caulking prior to the application of any paint. 9. Priming: Exterior and interior millwork shall be primed all over upon arrival at the project. Touch up all abraded parts of prime coat on metal or apply prime coat, if necessary, be- fore applying any finish coats. 10. Plaster: All plastered walls and ceilings, except Acoustical Plastic, shall be neutralized with zinc - sulphate. Blemishes in plaster shall be repaired with Spackling Compound, sanded smooth and spot primed. General: The work under this heading shall be done subject to the general conditions and specific conditions of the entire specification, whether attached hereto or not. This Contrac- tor is notified to refer thereto, and will be held responsible for all requirements made therein. 2. Systems: This Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor and equipment for the electric work for the new building as shown on the accompanying drawings and as hereinafter specified. 3. Scope of Work: The specifications and drawings are intended to provide for the complete installation of: a. A temporary wiring system for use of all trades during construction. b. A complete lighting and power system including furnishing, the hanging and wiring of all lighting fixtures, complete with lamps. c. Connect all motors. d. All electrical work and materials incidental to the mech- anical trades for a complete working installation of their equipment. e. All necessary panels, switches, conduit, wire, etc. as required. f. Conduit system with terminal cabinet for concealed tele- phone service. g. A complete public address system including speakers, wir- ing, conduit, amplifier, etc. h. A dimming system for chapel lighting. i. Lightning protection for steeple. J. Electric baseboard heaters in sacristy and lounge. k. AC power and control wiring. 1. The preparation of "as- built" drawings. m. Connections to all equipment furnished by others. In general, the Electrical Contractor shall supply and in- stall all conduit, wiring, fittings, etc., up to and in- cluding the disconnecting means for all equipment. Beyond this point, he shall supply all incidental conduit, wiring, fittings, etc., and shall install same between disconnect devices and controllers. However, controllers specified by catalog number are to be furnished by the Electrical Contrac- tor. The Electrical Contractor shall determine if the equip- ment as furnished by others for connection to the electrical system is of the proper size, type and rating to conform with the regulatory standards. Equipment furnished by others found to be deficient or improper shall be brought to the attention of the Architect and /or Engineer. 4. Site Investigation. Co- operation. Supervision Rules & Re - ulations Notices & Permits, Cutting & Patching, Cleaning - Up, Guarantees, Water - Proofing, Substitutions, Etc. See Architectural general and supplementary conditions. 5. Inspection and Tests: The final inspection and tests shall be made only after the Owner shall be satisfied that the work described in these specifications has been completely in- stalled in accordance with the true spirit and intent of these specifications. The acceptance of the work herein specified shall not in any way prejudice the Owner's rights to demand replacement of defective materials and workmanship. The Contractor shall provide all instruments, special appara- tus and expert services to make all necessary tests to show that the system is absolutely clear of grounds, short cir- cuits and is properly installed to meet all requirements of these specifications. B. MATERIALS 1. General: All materials shall bear the inspection label of the National Board of Fire Underwriters; sub - standard material will not be considered under any condition. 2. Switches: All sub -main and disconnect switches, fused or non - fused, shall be heavy duty as manufactured by G.E., Westing- house or Bull Dog. The enclosures shall conform to location. Current rating of switch shall be not less than 80% of the manufacturer's rating of the switch based on copper at 1000 amps. per square inch cross section. All switches shall be neatly labeled with red enamel to show the equipment controlled. Non - renewable cartridge type fuses shall be used in all fused switches. Mount all individual switches with 1/4" spacers behind same and grouped switches on 3/4" plywood backing painted flat black and rigidly fast- ened to the wall with bolts. General Contractor to furnish painted plywood. 3. Panelboards: a. Distribution panels shall be equal to Continental, West- inghouse, Walker, Frank Adams, Federal Pacific, or G.E. as selected on the plans. b. The lighting panels shall be NPAB -3 breaker type for 120/ 240 volt, single phase, three wire solid neutral operation, flush or surface mounted as shown on the plans and as man- ufactured by the above noted manufacturers. c. All panels shall have locking catch and keys, glass en- closed directory frame on each door, and typewritten directory card on each hinged door. d. Furnish shop drawings for approval on all distribution and lighting panels before purchase. e. Mount all individual surface boxes with 1/4" spacers be- hind same. 4. Conduit and Electric Metallic Tubin a. Rigid galvanized iron conduit shall be hot dip galvanized threads and zinc chromate coating inside and out, equal to Pittsburg, Triangle, Sheet & Tube, or Republic, and shall be used for all feeders and for branch circuits underground, under -slab, in masonry walls or in poured concrete. No reduction in conduit sizes due to the use of smaller diameter wire will be permitted. All bends or offsets greater than 90 degrees in rigid con- duit smaller than i ", shall be made with bench type bender. All bends in rigid conduit above 1" shall be made with manufacturer elbows. All conduit must be cut square, reamed smooth and properly threaded to receive couplings. Joints are to be made up with white lead or ZRO joint compound applied to the male threads only. All conduit ends at panels, sheet metal enclosures etc. larger than 1 ", shall be fitted with OZ type "A" fibre bushings and locknuts both sides of en- closure. Galvanized malleable iron bushings and iocknuts shall be used at all other pullbox or junction box ter- minations. Apply zinc chromate and paint all field cut threads after joints are made up. All conduits must be thoroughly swabbed out to remove moisture before wires or cables are drawn in place. b. Electric Metallic Tubing: All branch circuits shall be run in electrical metallic tubing, where same are run in furred ceilings, exposed or in stud walls. Use adapters to conduit where entering concrete or masonry. All tubing shall be coupled with threadless compression type connec- tion. Bends in electric metallic tubing shall be as for rigid conduit. All electrical metallic tubing shall be equal to that manufactured by Pittsburg, with zinc chromate coating. c. Aluminum Conduit: If aluminum conduit is substituted for feeder raceways, cadmium plated fittings shall be used at metal enclosure terminations and joints shall be made up with a graphite bearing grease applied to male threads only. d. Flexible Conduit: All connections to motors and vibrating araTITTET=TETTrbe made with flexible conduit. 1. Greenfield Cable - for dry locations. 2. "Sealite" or equal for all weather, oil or moisture exposed locations. Use special "Sealite fittings. 5. Wi_ring_: A complete wiring system with all feeders, mains and ranc es as shown on plans and riser diagrams shall be in- stalled. Branch circuit wiring, unless otherwise indicated on plans, shall be "TW" and feeders shall be "THW ". Rubber cords shall be 600 volt insulated with not less than 67% neoprene, type SO, equal to G.E. #SL- 53028. The conductor shall be of cop- per, having a minimum of 98% conductivity. Tinning shall be goverened by the Standards of the Underwriters' Labor- atories, Inc., according to the type of insulation used; specified gauges refer to A.W.G. At each fixture outlet, a loop or end of wire not less than eight (8) inches long shall be left for connecting to fix- tures. Wire shall be equal to that manufactured by the Gen- eral Electric Co., Phillips Wire Co., General Cable Co., Habir Shaw Co., American Steel & Wire Co., or Okonite. Wiring for Public Address system shall be #20 or larger, twisted pairs of stranded copper having 1/64" PVC insulation. Microphone cable shall be high quality, low impedance with overall closely woven braid, two wire shielded with PVC jacket. Wire and cable for intercom system shall be as furnished by manufacturer of equipment. 6. Wall Switches and Receptacles: All tumbler switches shall be 0 amp., single pole, Sierra 5021 and 5023 or equal. The switches shall be "T" rated for type C lamp loads. Duplex and single receptacles shall be Sierra 1402X and 1202X or equal. All plates shall be smooth plastic plates - Sierra P -line, color to be selected except for the two 3 -way swit- ches at the rear of the chapel. These plates shall be spec- ial finish bronze to match door hardware. Telephone plates shall be strap mounted. 7. Outlet Boxes and Fittings: All outlet boxes shall be double dipped galvanized steel, 4" X 4" square, installed where required. Boxes shall be not less than 12" deep, except for wall switches which boxes shall be 2" deep. Fixture outlet boxes shall be equipped with "no- bolt" fixture studs. Outlet boxes installed in plastered walls or ceilings shall have plaster rings. Outlet boxes to be G.E., Steel City or Appleton. • • Extra large boxes shall be provided in accordance with N.E.C., in lieu of sizes specified, where necessary in order to prevent undue crowding of wires. Weatherproof receptacles shall be housed in cast iron boxes equal to Crouse Hinds F.D., with rounded corner finished plates net to project beyond boxes. Weatherproof receptac- le covers shall be Crouse Hinds #DS 10 gauge. 8. Lighting Fixtures: The lighting fixtures are scheduled on the plans.(See fixture specifications supplement below.) All fixtures shall be supported in a manner approved by the Engineer. The Electrical Contractor shall furnish all metal bars, channels, hangers, etc., required in suspended ceil- ings. No wood backing secured to concrete or steel will be accepted. All fixtures shall arrive on the job completely assembled in individual cartons, completely wired at the factory. Each fixture shall be furnished complete with lamps. 9. Public Address System: Speakers - Electrovoice #SP -8B dual cone speakers. Wall Baffles - Soundolier #164 -8 baffle plate, #177 -78 plaster ring and #191 -78 recessing enclosure. Amplifier - Rauland #2135 with three R1002 transformers. Microphones - Two #664 Electrovoice, one on floor stand and one in lecture mounted as directed. 10. Dimmers: Furnish and install dimming control system as shown on the drawings and as described in these specifications. Dimmers shall be Hub Electric Company or equal; chandelier dimmers shall be #5 -11M with two 15 amp. breakers on load side and Reredos spots dimmer shall be #M2 -11; five second speeds. Manual dimmers and controls shall be Hub Electric Company #FIR - IEICX, or equal, and shall be flushed into the wall at the organ. This assembly shall consist of; one 1800W dimmer, one 500W dimmer, two mercury 20 amp. switches and two mercury three way switches, and two BHD14096 raise -lower switches. This assembly shall be approximately 24 "W X 18 "H X 4 "D; trim shall be prime coated. Each device shall be identified by an engraved nameplate. 11. Lightning Protection: Furnish and install lightning protec- tion for the steeple. Connect the aluminum cross to the copper down cable by use of aluminum cable and a bimetallic connector. Bond the steel frame work to down cable in similar manner. Use lead anchors and cable strips for in- stalling cable concealed in furred spaces. Down cable to connect to proper size driven ground rod. Equipment shall be Thompson or equal. The installation shall be made under the supervision of persons experienced in lightning protection installation such as Jamarco, Coral Gables, Florida. C. EXECUTION OF WORK 1. Accessibility: The Contractor shall inform himself fully regarding the peculiarities and limitation of the space available for the installation of all materials under this contract. He shall see that all of his equipment will be readily accessible. The foregoing shall also apply in gen- eral to any part of the system which may be necessary to be reached from time to time for maintenance. 2. Backfilling: This Contractor shall do all excavating required in introducing his work and shall backfill all trenches, thoroughly washing in and compacting fill to place. He shall repair all yards, sidewalks, curbs or paving that may have been disturbed by his work. 3. Connection of Equipment: This Contractor shall connect all equipment furnished by others as hereinbefore noted. Rough - ing -in dimensions shall be obtained from the sub - contractor furnishing the equipment before work is begun. 4. Service: The service shall be 120/240 volt, 3 phase, 4 wire Delta underground from Power Co. pole where shown. Run up pole to height required by Power Company. 5. Grounding: Grounding shall be in accordance with Article 250 National Electric Code. 6. Temporary Service: An overhead temporary service for use of all trades during construction shall be installed, using raintite fused main and submain switches located where re- quired. Receptacles shall be used at all distribution points; same shall be at least 20 amp. grounded twist -lock, shielded from the weather. 7. Installation of Conduit: Conduit and tubing shall be con- cealed within the walls, ceilings and floors where possible. Exposed runs of conduit or tubing shall have supports spaced not more than 8 feet apart and shall be installed with runs parallel or perpendicular to wall, structural members, or intersections of vertical planes and ceilings, with right angle turns consisting of cast metal fittings, or symmetri- cal bends. Bends and offsets shall be avoided where possible but where necessary shall be made with an approved hickey or conduit bending machine. Conduit or tubing which has been crushed or deformed in any way shall not be installed. Wooden plugs inserted in mas- onry or concrete shall not be used as a base to fasten con- duit supports. Conduit and tubing shall be supported on approved type of galvanized wall brackets, ceiling trapezes, strap hangers, or pipe straps, secured by means of toggle bolts on hollow masonry units, or expansion bolts in concrete or brick, machine screws on metal surfaces and wood screws on wood construction. Nails shall not be used as a means of fastening boxes or conduits; conduits and tubing shall be installed in such a manner as to insure against trouble from trapped condensation, and all runs of conduit shall be arranged so as to be devoid of traps, wherever possible. The contractor shall exercise the necessary precautions to prevent the lodgement of dirt, plaster or trash in conduit, tubing, fittings and boxes during the course of installation, by the use of Kraft paper, excelsior or slip -on blank metal plates or SEP Locators. The use of newspaper will not be permitted. Capped end bushings equal to T &B #1460 series shall be used in all cases until the wire is pulled. A run of conduit which has become clogged shall be entirely freed of these accumulation, or shall be replaced. Conduit shall be securely fastened to all sheet metal outlet, junction and pull boxes, with galvanized lock nuts and bushings, care being observed to see that the full number of threads pro - ject through to permit the bushings to pull tight against the end of the conduit, after which the lock nut shall be made up sufficiently tight to draw the bushings into firm electrical contact with the box. A #16 iron wire shall be left in all spare or empty conduits and the ends capped. 8. Location of Outlets: All wall outlets shall be located as follows measurements being made to center of box): Bracket outlets Duplex receptacles Wall switches Speaker outlets Telephone outlets as noted 1' -0" except as noted 3' -6 9' -6" to top of box 1' -0" except as noted 9. Circuits and Feeders: All branch circuits shall be run as indicated on plans. No wire smaller than #12 shall be used for any circuits. Branch circuits longer than 75 feet from panel to last outlet served shall be wired with #10 wire as shown on the drawings. All conductors shall be ceded throughout, using two (2) colors and white. The same color for a particular phase or part of a circuit shall be run with the same color conductor throughout the job. All circuits and feeder sizes specified on the plans are minimum sizes of conductors, and shall not be decreased under any condition. This Contractor shall check all cir- cuits and provide all necessary conductors to secure the operation required. 25 -7 • • PLUMBING A. WORK REQUIRED 1. General: The work under this heading shall be done subject to the general conditions and specific conditions of the entire specification, whether attached hereto or not. This Contrac- tor is notified to refer thereto, and will be held responsible for all requirements made therein. 2. Systems: This section of the specifications is intended to describe a complete plumbing system for the building. This plumbing system shall be construed to mean all work usually included under the heading of "Plumbing ": beginning with connections to services and utilities, at points indicated on the drawings, 3. Scope of Work: The work under this section of the specifica- tions consists of furnishing all labor, material, equipment, and service, and performing all work in connection with the plumbing system as shown on the drawings, and as specified. Primarily this work includes the following: a. All excavations and backfilling necessary to install work under this specification. b. The installation of a complete system of soil and waste piping, vents, etc., to all fixtures and locations as shown on drawings, including septic tank with drainfield. c. The in>tailati.cn of all fixtures and fittings shown on the drawings and hereinafter specified, including hot water heater. d.. The installation of a complete system for supplying hot and cold water to all locations shown. e. Connections to all equipment furnished and /or set by others. f. All necessary permits, diagrams, fees, charges, etc., re- quired by codes, ordinances, or municipality having jur- isdiction, and guarantee. g. Installation of storm water and patio drain piping, in- cluding soakage pit. h. Installation of AC drains with insulation and soakage pit. i. Installation of lawn sprinkler system complete, including well. • • j. The providing of cold water for use of all trades during construction. 4. Site Investigation, Co- operation, Supervision; Rules & Reg- ulations, Notices & Permits, Cutting & Patching, Cleaning UR, Guarantees, Waterproofing, Substitutions, Etc. - See Archit- ectural General Specifications. 5. Inspection and Tests: Contractor shall make all water and air tests of soil, waste, vents and water supply systems in the presence of the local inspector. Water supply system - 100 psi gauge. Soil - 20 feet TDH. :! B. MATERIALS 1. General Requirements: Materials for this contract shall be new, free from defects. Materials shall be of the generally accepted standards of weight and grade. All materials shall comply with the latest requirements and specifications of the American Society for Testing Materials, wherever the above society has such specifications and standards. 2. Copper Pipe: a. Copper drainage piping shall be Type L hard copper pipe below grade of first floor slabs and Type DWV hard copper above the first floor. b. Copper water piping shall be Type L hard copper pipe. 3. Fittings: a. Copper Drainage Fittings: All fittings for copper waste piping shall be cast or wrought drainage type for solder joints and having recesses to receive the pipe to make a perfectly smooth water way. b. Copper Water and Vent Fittings: All fittings for copper water and vent piping shall be standard sweat type cast or wrought copper with recesses to receive the pipe to make a perfectly smooth waterway. 4. Pipe Cleanouts: Pipe Cleanouts in soil lines shall be extra heavy iron body brass plug cleanouts of the same size on which it is installed. 5. Escutcheons: Escutcheons shall be chromium plated, and shall have set screws, springs, or other devices to hold them sec- urely in place. 6. Supports: Support service piping 10 ft. c.c. for pipes larger than 12 ", and 8 ft. c.c. for pipes 12" and smaller, soil p'!pe 5 ft. c.c. Support vertical lines from each floor slab. All horizontal soil and waste lines shall be supported firmly. a. Inserts - Inserts shall be cast iron or steel, of a type to receive a machine bolt head or nut after installation, and shall be installed in place before concrete is poured. 26 -2 • • b. Pipe Sleeves - Number 22 gauge galvanized iron sleeves in floor before pouring; steel sleeves in concrete beams. All pipe poured in concrete to be wrapped with two (2) 30# felts. c. Lead Pipe & Brass Ferrules - Lead pipe, grade "D" drawn pipe. Connect lead pipe to cast iron pipe with brass ferrules, and to lead pipe by means of heavy wiped solder joints. Ferrules - extra heavy cast brass. 7. Water Pining: a. All water piping to be copper pipe assembled with solder fittings. b. All valves to be all brass body and trim equal to Crane #1324 gate, #1310 globe, and #1303 check. c. Hose Bibbs - Shall be Chicago #387 -3/4 ". d. Air Chambers - Air chambers shall be installed where shown, in the sizes indicated and wherever required by code or good practices. Air chambers to be 30 pipe dia- meters long and none smaller than 3/4" diameter. 8. Storm Water Piping: Above the first floor slabs all storm water drains shall be type DWV copper and copper drainage fittings. Same to be adequately sound isolated with wrap- pings of hair felt or equal. Storm water lines below the slabs may be service weight cast iron pipe and fittings. 9. Lawn Sprinkler System & Piping,: The supply well, all piping from well to pump and from pump to a minimum of one (1) foot outside the building shall be mild galvanized steel pipe assembled with galvanized malleable iron fittings. All lawn sprinkler piping outside building shall be rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC) Type 11, grade 1, schedule 40 assembled with PVC medium weight fittings, using manufacturer's solvent cement according to manufacturer s specifications. Valves shall be as specified for water piping. Pump to be Neinman, or equal, Model 12K2 -4 (curve 12K -181) 2 HP, 1750 RPM, 220 volt, 3 phase, 60 cycle, to deliver 45 gpm at 80 ft. TDH; starter by electrical contractor. Eight (8) gallon B &G #8 compression tank. Joints, Installation & Connections: Sanitary System: Joints shall be made with picked oakum, well driven in, and molten pure piglead, poured full at one pouring. It shall then be caulked thoroughly until air tight. Joints between cast iron pipe and other pipe shall be screwed and made with approved compound. All horizontal pipe shall be laid to uniform grade. All riser pipe shall be truly vertical. All changes in direction shall be made with long bends. No skewed joints shall be permitted. Connections to horizontal lines shall be made with V branches, and to ver- tical lines with sanitary tees. 2. Wate Supply & Lawn Sprinkler Piiping: a. All changes In size shall be made with reducing fittings and couplings. The use of bushings will not be permitted. In erecting plated piping, fittings and fixtures, care shall be exercised not to mar the finish. Friction wrenches must be used, and no wrench marks shall show on completion of work. b. The ends of all pipe shall be reamed free from all burrs and lip. Copper pipe shall make full engagement into copper fittings and be soldered in a good workmanship manner using new 50 -50 wire solder. Bending of hard copper pipe which causes a reduction in cross sectional area will not be permitted. c. Lawn sprinkler piping shall be installed a minimum of nine (9) inches below grade and backfilled to four (4) inches over top of piping with fine media or sand. All stub -ups to sprinkler heads shall be galvanized steel nipples or pipe screwed into female plastic elbows. • • 3. Insulation: AC condensate drains above first floor slabs to be insulated with 1/2" flexible armaflex with vapor barrier casing and all joints cement sealed. 4. Flashing Vents at Roof: All vent pipes passing thru roof shall be flashed and ounterflasled with 3 lb. sheet lead. Flashing shall be not less than 14" on the roof, and shall extend up the pipe and then turn down inside the pipe. 5. Expansion Bolts & Toggle Bolts: Connection of wall hangers, pipe supports or fixture settings with masonry, stone or con- crete backing shall be made with an expansion bolt or toggle bolts. No wooden plugs or powder charge studs shall be per- mitted. Wall screws shall be installed on lavatories, drinking fountains and all wall hung fixtures, etc. 6. Traps & Cleanouts: a. All traps shall be self - cleaning. b. Traps Required: Each fixture shall be separately trapped, unless otherwise specifically detailed or called for. c. Pipe Cleanouts: Full size of pipe, shall be placed at foot of each stack, at each change of direction, or hor- izontal lines and at intervals of not more than fifty (50) feet of runs. Cleanouts shall be placed in accessible locations and where necessary, brass plates shall be placed in walls to allow access to cleanouts. All clean- outs in finished areas, toilet rooms and shower -rooms shall have Zurn or equal Z- 1370 -3 wall type or Z- 1380 -3 floor type. • • AIR CONDITIONING AND VENTILATION 1. Work Described Herein: a. A complete air conditioning system. The system will con- sist of a self - contained air conditioning unit for the chapel and a condensing unit with DX system serving fan coil units in the sacristy and lounge, with a common con- denser water pump and wells. b. Heating for chapel only will be by electrical resistance heater assembly mounted in the supply duct. Heating for sacristy and lounge is covered under the electrical spec- ifications. c. The ventilation systems will be installed complete. 2. General Conditions: a. This contractor shall make reference to the General Con- ditions, etc. contained in another section of these spec- ifications, which shall apply to and govern the work under this section of the specifications. 3. Alternates and Substitutions: a. Equipment selections listed are to establish performance and quality. No vouluntary alternates to specified types of equipment items or types of systems will be allowed. b. All contractors shall submit proposals on the work as designed with the equipment specified or with equipment equal in quality of construction. Contractor shall list manufacturers' name in proposal if other than listed here- in. All proposals for substitutions will be considered after award of the contract and shall be submitted in the manner specified under "Shop Drawings ". Proposals for substitutions shall be in the hands of the Architect no later than 30 days after award of the contract. 4. Shop Drawings: a. Four copies of shop drawings shall be submitted to the engineer for approval, where specifically called for on the drawings, in the specifications, or as listed below; (1) All major pieces of equipment, whether specifically specified or not, showing correct dimensions, arrange- ment, connection sizes, complete capacity and per - formance data, electrical characteristics, power re- quirements, access panels and clearances required for service. If the equipment being submitted is a sub- stitution, the shop drawings shall include factory certification that the equipment has the specified capacity, or shall include copies of manufacturer's published performance data together with any calcula- tions and interpolations that may be required to prove that the equipment will operated at the specified con - ditions. • • (2) Any equipment the contractor proposes to use of dif- ferent manufacture, size, or arrangement than that shown on the drawings shall require shop drawings, which shall clearly show how the equipment fits in the space allowed and in relation to adjacent equipment, with all connections shown such as piping, ductwork, flues, etc. The plan view shall be supplemented with a minimum of two sections. Special drawings of this type shall not be required for minor equipment, and materials such as air distribution, starters, and valves. b. All shop drawings submitted for approval shall be perused, corrected if necessary and stamped by the contractor, be- fore forwarding to the engineer, to indicate that the con- tractor is satisfied the shop drawings are complete and comply in every respect to the requirements of plans and specifications. c. Approval of shop drawings by the engineer will not relieve the contractor from responsibility for his own errors, nor from his responsibility for compliance with the plans and specifications. 5. Testing and Starting,: a. The following tests shall be made after the specified systems have been installed and placed in operation: (1) The volume and velocities of air at all terminals, out- lets, inlets, etc. shall be tested. Volume dampers, splitters, outlets, etc. shall be adjusted so that the air volume will be as shown on the drawings. On com- pletion, each system shall be free of all objectionable drafts. All dampers shall be clearly marked at cor- rect setting. (2) Tests shall be conducted by using a Pitot tube and differential draft gauge, anemometer, velometer or similar instruments in main supply ducts, return air ducts, branch ducts, et. as directed. The results of these tests shall be that the total sum of air shall be within 5% of the total as shown on the drawings for that particular system. The contractor shall prr- vide all instruments and labor to make the tests. (3) All circulating water systems shall be balanced by checking the actual pressure drop across each heat transfer device and adjusting the balancing cock until the water quantity through the devices is such that the pressure drop is equal to that calculated from the manufacturer's data to provide the conditions specified on the drawings. Also, the water pressure drop across each pump shall be recorded. • • b. A "start -up" record of all equipment shall be made and recorded in triplicate including all pertinent operating and maintenance data including pressures, temperatures, rpm, belt sizes, filter sizes, number of filters, etc. c. On completion of tests, a record in triplicate of all calculations, measurements of air and water balance, shall be delivered to the engineer for record and approval. The "start -up" record shall also be included. d. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to start the system initially and to operate it for a period of not less than 2 full eight hour days, after all necessary ad- justments have been made, in the presence of the Owner's representative. e. If the testing and balancing specified above is not com- pleted within 30 days after essential completion of the installation, the architect reserves the right to obtain the services of others to accomplish this test and balance with minimum inconvenience to the Owner. This will in no way relieve the contractor of his responsibility for the guarantee of material and workmanship and for the full equipment warranty hereinafter specified. Any and all costs for such testing and balancing by others, made nec- essary by the contractor not completing this work in the time allotted, will be deducted from the balance of money due the contractor. 6. Guarantee: a. This contractor shall guarantee that all new equipment has the capacity specified and that it will operate with- out excess noise or vibration. b. The contractor shall also furnish a written guarantee covering all workmanship and materials for a period of one year from date of acceptance. This shall include an agreement to repair or replace, at his expense, all the defects that may appear in that time, which in the opinion of the engineer, are due to defective workmanship or materials. c. Air filters and V -belt drives are not included in this guarantee. d. The contractor is also to guarantee the replacement, with- out charge, of all refrigerant and refrigerant oil lost through first 90 days of operation after final acceptance. e. Copies of factory warranties on all equipment furnished shall be submitted with the above described written guar- antee, including any warranties that extend longer than the required one year guarantee period. 7. Work Not Included. In This Section: a. The following work and materials which are necessary to complete the installation of the systems specified will be .furnished under other sections of the specifications: (1) Insulated condensate drains from the drip pan of each cooling coil. (2) All electrical power and control wiring. (3) Unless otherwise indicated all cutting, patching, painting, and decorating necessary for the installatioa of equipment, ductwork, piping, access panels, etc. However, this contractor shall be responsible for lay- ing out all holes required for his work and shall give the General Contractor the necessary information for these openings so they can be prepared in the course of construction. If any cutting of the structure is required for these openings due to this contractor failing to give the correct information or failing to give the information in time, he shall bear all costs of cutting and patching. (4) Installation of return air grilles in wood panels.(A11 grilles will be furnished by the Air Conditioning Contractor.) (5) Provision of wood or angle iron frames for direct mounting of grilles, or other air devices, in ceilings or walls. (6) All access panels in walls or ceilings for proper access to adjustable splitter dampers, motorized dam- pers, damper motors, straightening vanes not access- ible through air outlets, fire dampers, etc. This Contractor shall be responsible for advising the Gen- eral Contractor of the correct number, size and loc- ation of the access panels. 8. Self Contained Units: a. The self contained unit shall be of the capacity as called for on the drawings and each shall be complete with the following: (1) One or more compressors as indicated on the drawings. Compressors shall be hermetically sealed mounted on suitable vibration eliminators. (2) A separate refrigerant circuit for each compressor with expansion valve, strainer, sight glass, water cooled condenser and cooling coil. Cooling coil shall have copper tube with aluminum fins. Condenser shall have copper tubes enclosed in a steel shell. (3) Filter section to filter both outside and return air. Filters shall be standard size, high velocity type equal to Research Products Corp. Multi - Velocity In- dustrail all aluminum air filters with maximum gross face velocity of 450 fpm. (4) Fan section with quiet operating, squirrel cage fan wheels driven by 1750 rpm motor with variable pitch belt drive. (5) The various components of the unit shall be mounted on a sturdy angle iron frame covered with an attractivel, finished, thermally and sound insulated casing with control panels and all service access panels located on exposed sides of the unit. (6) Unit shall be arranged for remote switches and ther- mostat as indicated on the drawings and described under "Controls" and shall be factory wired for field connection to a separate control circuit. b. Unit shall be isolated from the floor with properly sized Korfund Elasto -Rib pads, 1 inch thick. c. The contractor shall adjust the fan drives, as required, to deliver the specified CFM against the static pressure of the system as installed. d. The self- contained unit shall be an established cataloged item of the manufacturer as of the bid due date. 9. Electric Strip Heaters: a. Electric strip heaters shall be Underwriter Approved, factory assembled units of capacity, arrangement, size and power supply as indicated on the drawings. Each heater assembly shall be complete with Type C nickel chr- omium resistance wire elements, one inch thick fiberglass insulation between control box and heater, control box, contractor for each step of heating, high limit control, and internal factory wiring ready for field connection to a terminal block. The heaters shall be as manufactured by Electric Heaters, Inc., or equal as approved. 10. Condenser Pump: a. The condenser pump shall be 1750 rpm, single stage, end suction, centrifugal, bronze fitted, close coupled, non- overloading with impeller cut to deliver the specified gpm against the TDH of the system as installed. b. Provide a concrete base under the pump a maximum of 6 inches high. Pump shall be bolted solidly to anchor bolts in the concrete block. Concrete base shall rest on 1" Elasto -rib. c. Submit shop drawings of all pumps to the engineer, for approval, complete with Total Dynamic Head calculations, based on the actual piping and equipment to be used on the installation, along with the performance curves for the pumps, prior to placing the final order. 11. Conde.nsin Unit: a. Unit shall be a packaged condensing unit with hermetic compressor of the capacity indicated with condenser foul- ing factor of .001. Unit shall be complete with dual pressurestats, motor overtemperature protection, muffler, liquid line solenoid, liquid line strainer - dryer, spring isolater and !SME Code shell- and -coil condenser. 12. Fan Coil Units: a. Units shall be of the type, capacity, and installed com- plete with all accessories and controls as indicated. 13. Wells: a. Provide supply and discharge wells to deliver 55 gpm continuously and not less than the size indicated. Wells shall be proven by delivering lz times required flow for a period of 8 hours in the presence of the Architect or his representative. Contractor shall guarantee well for period of one year from date of acceptance. Wells shall conform to local health department requirements and South Florida Building Code, Section 4616. Discharge well shall be at least 25 feet deeper than supply well. 14. Condenser Water Piping,: a. Condenser water piping above ground shall be standard weight, galvanized steel with standard weight, galvanized, malleable iron, screw pattern fittings. b . Condenser water piping below ground shall be standard weight, galvanized, genuine wrought iron pipe as manufact- ured by A.M. Byers Co. with screwed, galvanized, malleable iron, standard weight fittings. c. All condenser water pipe outside the building shall have all exposed threads brushed clean and painted with two coats of asphalt base aluminum paint to prevent rusting. d. Flanges or unions shall be provided at each pump, conden- ser, and similar equipment to permit easy removal of the equipment. 15. Refrigerant Pipin: a. All refrigerant piping shall be type "L ", hard drawn, cop- per tube with sweat type, wrought or forged fittings. b. All joints shall be made with 95 -5 solder without excep- tion. If other than 95-5 solder is desired, written approval of the substitution must be secured from the engineer. c. The maximum allowable pressure drop in the liquid, suction or discharge line shall not be in excess of the eauivalent of 2 degrees F. in refrigerant temperature. d. Each refrigerant system shall be proven tight and free of moisture by carefully testing all joints using soap solution. Minimum test pressure for R -12 system shall be 235 psig on high side and 140 psig on low side. System shall maintain pressure for 24 hours and then be evacuated using vacuum pump with dehydration indicator of 29.6 inches of mercury for 4 hours with pump running. Stop pump and allow system to stand for 12 hrs. during which time system shall maintain pressure listed above. 16. Pipe Hangers and imports : a. All horizontal pipe shall be supported on a maximum of 10 feet center to center. Use No.107R Grinnell split ring and socket hangers on steel pipe, No.97CP Grinnell on cop- per and Crane No. 239 -F with 18 gauge galvanized sheet metal saddle on insulated lines. b. All piping shall be supported in such a manner that the pipe connections to the equipment will be in perfect align- ment prior to making the final connection. Care shall also be taken to support the pipe in such a manner that the pipe will not touch the sleeve where it passes through walls or slabs. 17. Inserts: a. All inserts required in the installation: of equipment in- clude in this section of the specifications shall be cast iron or steel, of a type to receive a machine bolt head or nut after installation. All inserts shall be installed in place before the concrete is poured. 18. Pipe Sleeves: a. Where piping passes through roofs, floors, or masonry walls, substantial galvanized steel sleeves shall be provided. Sleeves shall be sufficiently larger than the 0.D. of the pipe to allow proper caulking with oakum. Sleeves for insulated pipe shall be sufficiently large to allow the passage of the insulation through the sleeve. b. This contractor shall be responsible for placing all the sleeves for his piping prior to the pouring of the con - crete or in time to be set in place as the masonry walls are erected. 19. Valves: a. Water valves up to 2" shall be 125 psi steam, 200 psi WOG, brass, non rising stem, wedge disc, gate valves, equal to Crane No. 438 screwed. b. Water valves 22" and larger shall be 125 psi steam, 200 psi WOG, iron body, brass trim, wedged gate, non - rising stem, gate valves, equal to Crane No.460 or 461, screwed or flanged. c. All water valves must have the manufacturer's name and the valve rating permanently cast into the valve body. d. Balancing cocks shall be DeZurik, eccentric, .non - lubricated, semi-steel plug valves with adjustable stop to fix maximum open position. e. The gauge cocks shall be Crane No.712, brass or equal. f. Refrigerant stop valves shall be forged brass body, pack - less type as manufactured by Muller. g. Refrigerant expansion valves shall be selected in accor- dance with the manufacturer's recommendations and shall be as manufactured. by Sporlan. h. Refrigerant solenoid valves shall be normally closed, 120 volt, with manual lifting stem, full line size as manufac- tured by Sporlan. • 20. Strainer: a. Provide a strainer on the suction side of the condenser water pump equal to Crane No.988 -1/2 with monel basket having 1/8" perforations. Also, provide a globe valve on the basket end the full size of the blow -off tapping. b. Refrigerant liquid line strainers shall be Y -type as man- ufactured by Muller. 21. Ventilation Fans: a. The ventilation fans shall be as specified on the drawings complete with accessories as indicated. 22. Vibration Isolation: a. Vibration isolators shall be provided for each piece of equipment, support or hanger as required to prevent any vibration from being transmitted to the building structure. Also, in refrigerant and water lines, should excessive vibration exist after ahngers and supports have been pro- perly isolated, the contractor shall provide properly de- signed flexible connections to remove the vibration. 23. Sheet Metal Ductwork: a. Furnish and install all sheet metal ductwork for the sys- tems as shown on the drawings. All ducts, casings, plenums, etc., unless otherwise indicated shall be constructed of galvanized steel sheets free from blisters, slivers, pits, imperfectly coated spots, etc. All ducts shall be fabric- ated of the proper gauge and erected as called for in the latest edition of the ASHRAE Guide unless otherwise spec- ified herein or detailed on the drawings. b. All necessary allowances and provisions shall be made in the installation of the ducts for the structural conditions of the building, and ducts shall be transformed or divided as may be required. Wherever necessary to do this, the required area shall be maintained. All of these changes, however, must be approved and installed as direct at the site. During the installation, the ope.0 ends of ducts shall be protected to prevent debris and dirt from enter- ing same. The contractor shall install this work in accor- dance with the approved progress schedule and in co- cpera- tion with other contractors, so there will be no delay in other trades. c. Provide splitter dampers and manual dampers where shown or indicated on the drawings. Splitter dampers shall be con- structed of galvanized sheet metal one gauge heavier than the duct and not to exceed 18 gauge. They shall be secure- ly attached to an iron pivot rod which shall be set in soc- kets attached to the duct. The end of the splitter shall be turned over to form a tear drop on the end. On splitter dampers up to 24 ", there shall be provided a single rod, and on splitter dampers 25" and above, there shall be pro- vided two rods. These rods shall be installed through the duct, and each rod shall be provided with a set screw locking device to hold same in position. On insulated ducts, the locking device shall be placed on a bracket so that the set screw is on the surface of the insulation. Manual dampers shall be constructed of not less than 22 gauge. For ducts up to 12" 'deep, dampers shall be single blade and for ducts greater than 12" they shall be multi - blade, with each damper blade being not wider than 9 ". Each damper blade shall be attached to a pivot rod provided with a locking quadrant with an indicating device. On in- sulated ducts, the quadrants shall be placed on a bracket so that the quadrant is on the surface of the insulation. d. All elbows shall be full radius or vaned square turn unless otherwise indicated on the drawings. Where vaned, square turned elbows are indicated, the vanes shall be of the double thickness type designed to maintain approximately the same cross - section free area across the diagonal that exists in the straight run of duct. The double thickness vanes shall be constructed as detailed on the drawing in- cluded in the latter part of this section of the specifica- tions. e. Flexible connections shall be installed on the discharge side of each air conditioning unit. The flexible connec- tions shall be a minimum of 4 inches long and shall be Ventglas. Secure Ventglas to the fan and to the duct work by a galvanized iron or aluminum band. f. Straightening Vanes: At all points where a sheet metal sup - ply outlet collar oe duct taps off the main duct, or where otherwise indicated, there shall be installed straightening vanes which shall function both as a volume control and as straightening vanes. The straightening vanes shall be in- dividually adjustable, 3" wide by the height of the collar and spaced 2" on center. As detailed in the latter part of this section of the specifications. This contractor shall submit a sample of these straightening vanes to the engin- eer for approval prior to fabrication. Each straightening vane shall be accessible through the end of the collar or through a special access provided in the ductwork. g. Access Panels: Provide access panels in the ductwork as required for access to entering side of all coils, adjust - ment of straightening vanes not accessible through outlet collars, fire dampers, etc. Access panels shall be 12 in. square unless otherwise indicated and shall be provided with a gasket and a sufficient number of screws to prevent leakage. Where the access panels are required on ductwork that is covered with vaporproof insulation, the access panels shall be constructed of two thicknesses of metal with a minimum of one inch of insulation between and shall be designed and mounted so that no condensation will occur. h. Exhaust Ducts: All exhaust ducts shall be so constructed as specified abcve, and in addition, shall have all joints on the suction side cf the fan carefully taped with 4" wide Parmecel industrail tape. Any joint in the tape shall be lapped at least 4" to make the entire exhaust system air- tight. 27 -9 i. Fire Dampers: Furnish and install all fire dampers where shown on the drawings constructed in accordance with the current standards of the National Board of Fire Underwrit- ers or as specifically detailed or otherwise specified. j. Supporting Ducts: All ducts shall be adequately supported. For ducts 30" in the largest dimension hangers shall be placed 8 foot on centers. For ducts over 30" in the tar- gets dimension hangers shall be placed 4 foot on centers. Hangers shall be placed plumb and present a neat appearance. Hangers on ducts up to 36" in width shall be constructed from galvanized band iron 1" X 1/8 ". On ducts 36" and above in width, hangers shall be contructed from galvanized iron angles, not less than 1" X 1" X 1/8 ". Hangers shall extend down the sides of the ducts not less than 9 ". Oa ducts less than 9" in depth hangers shall extend the full depth of the duct. Hangers shall be attached to the duct using not less than three rivets or Parker screws. k. Sound - lining shall be installed inside ductwork where in- dicated on the drawings. Insulation shall be of the thick- ness indicated on the drawings and shall be equal to the Fiberglas mat -faced flexible duct liner. Adhere duct liner to all interior sides of duct with minimum 50% coverage of fire - retardant adhesive such as Benjamin Foster's 81 -99 or Minnesota Min.ning's EC -1329. Use mechanical fasteners of Tuff Bond Stic -Clips with Nylon Base on maximum 16" centers at top sections (when width exceeds 12 ") and on sides (when height exceeds 24 "). Sound - lining shall be guaranteed to be odorless. If objectionable odors exist due to the sound lining this contractor shall remove ductwork and insulation and replace with sound - lining of another manufacturer at no cost to the Owner. 24. Underground Ductwork: a. Ducts underground shall be Transite "Air Duct" with Steven- son couplings and factory fabricated fittings. Where tran- sition from round to rectangular shapes are called for the transition sections shall be constructed of galvanized sheet metal one gauge heavier than called for elsewhere. Metal ductwork underground shall be protected by applying two coats of cold asphalt to a thickness of not less than 1/4 ". Underground duct shall grade to low point in mech- anical equipment room. 25. Excavation and Backfilling: a. This contractor shall do all excavating and backfilling required for his work at a time suitable to the schedule of the project. If a portion of the underground piping must be backfilled to prevent undue delays in the progress of other work, this contractor shall pressure test that por- tion of the pipe before insulating and backfilling. Back - filling shall be clear sand surrounding the pipes for a distance 3" below and 12" above and to each side. Duct- work backfilling shall be as specified for piping. 26. Air Distribution Devices: a. The air distribution shall be aluminum. b. Chapel supply diffusers shall be Titus "Modulinear" model ML- 3500 -4 with type 6 frame. Continuous dampers shall be divided into not greater than 3 foot sections. Finish shall be baked enamel of color selected by Architect. c. The return air grilles, unless otherwise indicated, shall be Titus Series RS -50. d. The exhaust registers shall have fixed blades set at ap- proximately 450 with opposed blade, key operated dampers behind equal to Titus Series 241. e. Where grilles or registers are specified to have fire dam- pers, provide the Titus FD -40 opposed blade damper with spring loaded fusible link attachment fixed behind grille face. f. Sidewall grilles shall be Titus RS -270. 27. Weather roof Louvers: a. Provide all aluminum weatherproof louvers and screens as shown on detail contained in the latter part of this sec- tion of the specifications. The louver shall be the ex- truded aluminum type equal to the Titus OXL -02 with louver spacing as indicated on the detail and with a mounting frame as detailed or equal as approved. 28. Insulation: a. All supply air conditioning ductowrk above ground and ex- tending to one foot below ground shall be insulated with 1" thick, 6pcf density, board type fibrous glass faced with a factory applied, flame resistant vapor barrier of rein- forced, 0.001" foil faced kraft paper. b. The foil faced board type insulation shall be applied using Tuff Bond Stick Clips, with nylon base, cemented to the duct with Tuff Bond Adhesive on 12 to 18" centers. A min- imum of two rows of stick clips per side shall be used. The bottom and tcp sections of insulation shall be cut to lap the full thickness of the side sections to provide maximum support on horizontal runs. Care shall be taken to fit sections of insulation together so that the full face of the edges are in complete contact at all joints. c. Where any duct is installed close to an existing ceiling, the top shall be provided with a completely vapor sealed layer of insulation board before erection of the ductwork. Also, insulation over any standing seam shall be of the full 1" thickness of the same material with exposed edges properly vaporproofed as specified below. Where the side or bottom of the duct exceeds 18 ", the insulation at the standing seams shall be held in place with stick clips. d. The foil faced, board type insulation shall be vapor sealed and finished as follows: All joints and breaks in the in- sulation and all speed washers shall be sealed using 4" wide strips of glasfab embeded in B. Foster 60 -60N mastic, a fire resistive, vapor sealing adhesive. e. All .flexible connections in insulated ductwork and piping shall also be insulated with the same thickness insulation, maintaining a continuous capor barrier where required. If the insulation specified is difficult to install at the flexible connection or if it is too rigid to withstand the movement of the flexible connection a 1 pcf density blan.ka- type insulation with similar facing may be used. f. The refrigerant suction lines both above and below grade shall be insulated with Zirich Foamglas pipe insulation. All piping shall be tested and properly cleaned of all dirt or foreign matter before insulation is applied. The Foam- glas pipe insulation shall be applied with Foster 60 -60N,a fire resistive mastic, at all transverse and longitudinal seams. Stagger joints and fasten insulation with copper wire or stainless steel straps on 9" centers. All cover- ing for fittings shall be built up from properly fitted segments to make a neat and workmanlike installation. All joints shall be fitted to eliminate voids. Large voids shall be filled with vapor seal coating, but eliminated by refitting or replacing the insulation. g. Where piping is subject to excessive vibration, the bore of the inner layer shall be caoted with a thin application (to fill surface cells only) of specified bore coating, and allowed to dry before application of insulation to piping. h. All Foamglas pipe insulation shall have contraction joints at 20 foot intervals in horizontal and vertical straight run piping consisting of a fiberous glass, formed pipe in- sulation spacer 4 to 6 inches long of the same thickness as the Foamglas. i. All exposed piping insulated with Foamglas shall be pro- tected on exterior surface with a continuous layer of glass membrane embeded in a coat of Benjamin Foster No. 60 -60N, a fire retardant, vaporproof mastic. To the exterior of the glass membrane apply a gloved -on coat of the same mastic. j. All piping insulated with Foamglas that is exposed to the weather shall have the straight runs covered with a cor- rugated 0.010 inch thick aluminum jacket riveted 6 inches on center, and the fittings shall be covered with glass membrane and mastic as specified above. Also, apply final exterior finish of 2 coats of asphalt base aluminum paint on the exposed fittings. 29. Controls: a. The control system shall be electric and shall provide the sequence as described below with thermostats and switches: All electrical work will be done under another section of the specifications. The air conditioning contractor, how- ever, shall furnish all required controls, provide complete power and control wiring diagram, supervise installation of controls and control wiring, and do all necessary final ad- justing and calibration of controls. b. Within 30 days after the signing of this contract, the con- tractor shall submit shop drawings, for approval, of the complete power and control wiring for the equipment to be installed. All lines shall be suitably identified, and such identification shall appear on final "framed Diagram''. One "blue -line" print shall be framed under glass and mol.u- ted in the Compressor Room on the job, where directed. c. Firestats shall be equal to Barber - Colman TA 3431. d. Chapel unit shall start by remote heat -cool selector switch . which shall energize fan thru manual reset firestat located in R/A and shall also energize control sequence for heat- ing or cooling. e. Sacristy and Lounge units shall start by remote switch which will energize condensing unit controls and both fan blowers and their controls. f. When either compressor starts, the condenser water pump shall start thru auxiliary contacters on compressor star- ters. Condenser water pump will cycle off only when both compressors have cycled off. g. Control sequence shall be as noted on drawings. 30. Motor Starters: a. The air conditioning contractor shall furnish all motor starters for all ventilation and air conditioning motors unless otherwise indicated. All motor starters shall be of one manufacturer and shall be of the types as indicated on the drawings and described below: b. Motor starters, unless otherwise indicated, shall be stand- ard enclosure, and magnetic type shall have "reset button only" in cover. 31. Gau es: a. Furnish and install water, Freon and oil gauges where in- dicated on the drawings or specified herein. Gauges shall be calibrated, 4" dial type of the proper range for read- ing the pressures desired. Refrigerant and oil gauges shall be mounted on a panel near the respective compressor with each having a shut -off valve mounted directly below for isolating the gauge. The shut -off valves for the Freon gauges shall be the packless type. 32. Fainting: a. All equipment, all hangers, supports, and brackets not concealed in the building shall be properly painted with prime and finish coats of paint sufficient to prevent rusting during the one year guarantee period. The paint may be factory applied or field applied. All field ap- plied prime coat shall be Red Rust- Oleum. The finish paint on weather exposed items shall be two coats of Aluminum Rust- Oleum, and on other items Rust -Oleum No. 842. 33. Final Clean -up aad Touch -up Pinting: a. Before final acceptance of the installation, this contra . tor shall clean all of the equipment of debris, plaster, and other foreign material, and shall either repaint or touch -up with the original color paint any equipment that has been scratched or marred in the course of shipment or installation. Also, he shall remove from the job site all scraps of sheet metal, insulation, piping, and other material used by trades under his jurisdiction. 34- Brochure oz" Equipment: a. Before final acceptance of the installation, this contrac- tor shall deliver to the Architect, in triplicate, a com- plete brochure of all equipment furnished including service and maintenance instructions and spare parts data.
