Factory Mutual approved insulations boards are fastened to metal deck with Factory Mutual approved fasteners at the rate of one fastener per 2 sq. ft. Gafglas 75 base sheet with 2" side and 6" end laps is hot mopped to insulation. Ruberoid membrane with 3" side and 6" end laps is torch applied to base sheet. 2.04 Over Wood Decks: The anchor sheet is fastened to the deck with 12 gage, annular ring -shank steel roofing nails with heads at least 3/8" in diameter. Nails must protrude 3/16" min. from the underside of the deck and be spaced as set forth in Table 34 - of the South Florida Building Code. This applies to both smooth and gravel surfaced APP and SBS membranes. 2.06 For non -fire rated roofs, smooth surfaced Ruberoid membranes may be coated with GAF's fibered aluminum or Weather -Coat emulsion roof coating applied at a rate of 1 to 1 1/2 gallons per square. Granule surfaced membrane need not be coated. 3.00 Work shall be performed only by a licensed roofing contractor, acceptable to G.A.F. 4.00 Ruberoid membranes can also be used on existing built -up roofs, provided all loose gravel is removed and all blistered, deteriorated areas are repaired using this membrane and then the entire roof covered with this membrane as described above. The use of this membrane over other roofs shall be subject to approval by the Product Control Section and in accordance with Section 3401.9 South Florida Building Code. 5.00 Applictions for roofing permit must be accompanied by two duplicate sets of shop drawing, approved by the architect or project engineer, along with the manufacturer's specifications and standard details. This requirement is waived for re- roofing up to 5,000 sq. ft. and single family residentials jobs up to 5,000 sq. ft. in area. 6.00 This revision supersedes Notice of Acceptance #91- 0215.4 dated March 11, 1991.
