The attached sketch is provided to indicate the fire damaged area and to facilitate the issuance of a reconstruction permit. The fire apparently started in the air handler unit, located in the hall ceiling. Most of the damage was caused by smoke. Airconditioning duct will have to be replaced in the bedrooms and possibly in other locations. These will have to be either treated to eliminate smoke odor or replaced if badly damaged. The bathroom ceiling, the hall (west of bathroom), No. 1 bed- room (south of bath), No. 2 bedroom (north of bath), and one -half of the living room ceiling west of hall have been damaged. (Damage due to Fire Dept. observation and elimina- tion of fire.) 2" x 6" wood ceiling joists at 16" center -to- center will require replacement over A/H unit area in hall. 2" x 6" roof rafters over hall, bathroom and portion of bedroom No. 2 have been damaged due to fire.
