Significance:
The home was built for J.A. Riach, who was in charge of the immense
publicity campaign to attract homebuyers to the Miami Shores development.
The home is one of several exceptional homes built for Shoreland Company
executives to demonstrate the quality and character of their project
to potential customers. The architects, Kiehnel $ Elliott, were one of
the firms that helped shape the Mediterranean Revival theme for Miami

Physical Description:
Structure is a two -story Mediterranean Revival home. Its most apparent
feature is its irregular massing. Windows on E and S have large fanlights.
Two decorative windows, one porthole and one cross, near the entrance on
N. An ttLtt where two masses meet in the rear features'a concave curved
wall with arched windows. A detached two -story garage on the S of the
property is connected to the house by a high masonry wall with rounded
