After a discussion with Frank LuBien, I have
learned that I must ask you to consider a variance
to allow a tree house to remain in its present
position. The tree was recently cut back so that
the tree house is visible and an anonymous com-
plaint was lodged.
During the last few months, my two sons, as well
as numerous other children in the neighborhood,
have been engaged in a construction project in
the tree located in our side yard. I now under-
stand that unless a structure is specifically
allowed by the statutes, one is not allowed to
build without a variance. Needless to say, my
sons and their friends did not seek a variance
but instead, climbed into the tree, taking matters
into their own hands.
I would very much appreciate you allowing this
use to continue. The work that my children and
their friends have done means a great deal to
them as they planned and built the structure
themselves.
