The tabulated values are for anchors installed a minimum of 12 diameters on center and a minimum edge distance of six diameters for 100 percent anchor efficiency. Spacing and edge distance may be reduced to six-diameter spacing and three- diameter edge distance. provided the values are reduced SO percent. Linear interpolation may be used for intermediate spacings and edge margin%. TThese tension values are applicable only when the anchors are installed with special inspection as set forth in Section 306 of the code. 4 TTese tension values are applicable when the anchors are installed without special inspection as set forth in Section 306 of the code. 3 The tabulated shear and tensile values are for anchors installed in an area which leaves a minimum 3 -inch distance to any edge of the masonry unit. Values are for 8- inch -wide Grade N. lightweight or medium-weight masonry units conforming to ASTM C 90 and U.B.C. Standard No. 24 The grouted masonry units are to be filled with coarse grout conforming to ASTM C476 with a minimum compressive strength of 2000 psi. Normal- weight masonry units may be substituted for the medium - weight units. ‘The tabulated values are for anchors installed a minimum of 12 d on center and minimum wall edge and joint distance of six diameters or 3 inches. whichever is greater. for 100 percent efficiency. Spacing and edge distance may be reduced six - diameter spacing and three - diameter wall edge and joint distance or 1 '/3 inches. whichever is greater. provided the values are reduced 50 percent. Linear interpolation may be used for intermediate spacings irxd edge margins. ' embedment depth is measured from the outside face of the concrete or concrete block. "The tabulated shear values are for loads applied by the attached material to the sleeve portion of the anchor. Holes in the attached material shall not be more than 'nn inch in excess ache sleeve ( i.e.. anchor) diameter.
