Porcello The roof was first examined for loose tile by hand lifting one (1) in ten (10), (10 %), o:• all components in the field area and one (1) in five (5), (20 %), of all tile in the perimeter and comer areas of each roof. One (1) test per every two (2) squares in the field, one (1) lest per square in the perimeter, and one (1) test per square in the comer areas were rando: aly selected and subjected to the static uplift test. The single tiles were subjected to a concentrated uplift force measured with a manually operated Chatillon mechanical :lial push/pull gauge, series DPPH. The gauge was connected to a steel "L" shaped angle that was inserted under the nose of the tile and gradually pulled upward until reaching the required test pressure of 35 lbf. +/- 5 lbf. As the load was applied, observations for fai lure of the component and the attachment, if any, were recorded. Tests were performed o:•ler illustrated on the attached sketch with the test results listed below.
