The spacing of fasteners at window sills shall be as tested. The spacing of fasteners in all other parts of the frame, shall be as tested, but in no case shall exceed 24" on center. The first fastener shall be located at a maximum of 6" from each corner and mullion or stile. Fastener shall fully penetrate the buck, which shall be the same size as the one tested with the unit. No wood or plastic shields or pins shall be used for anchoring. See section four (4) of this approval for sizes of fasteners used in testing. 12. This screen enclosure may be attached to existing structures of ground floor level only and shall not be supported on trailers or mobile homes. A registered engineer or architect proficient in structural design shall certify that the existing structure has been analyzed and is adequate to carry the super imposed loads from the screen enclosure, refer to section 4403.4(f) of the South Florida Building Code. 3.0 LIMITATIONS: The screen enclosure roof and sides shall be covered with screen cloth being 60% open or greater only. The screen enclosure average roof height above ground level shall not exceed 15 feet. Foundation shall consist of 4 in. concrete slab with reinforcing providing 0.028 sq. in. of steel per foot in each direction and the slab discontinuous edges shall be 8 in. deep and 8 in. wide and shall be reinforced with 2 continuous #5 bar. All screens shall be proportioned to release from the frame work at the maximum design pressure of 10.6 psf on the roof screen sections and 19.6 psf on the vertical screen section. Adequate splines shall be provided to allow the release of the screen at the maximum design pressure. Metal - supported screen enclosures shall be grounded as required by Chapter 45 of the South Florida Building Code.
