MATERIAL CHARACTERISTICS 2.1. The louver blades shall be extruded as indicated on approved drawing No. 94 -187 Sheet 1 of 2, using aluminum alloy 6063 -T6 , 056" thick. 2.2 Louver blades have a vertical projected width of 2.187" and a horizontal projected depth of .865 ", installed at a 2.00" pitch. 2.3 Components shall be aluminum alloys 6063 -T6, extruded rails, mullion and hinge members. 2.4 The single unit bahama- shutter is a top pivoting panel of stile and rail construction, using the box beam Top and Bottom Rails (Part 1), Side Rails (Part 2) and Center Mullion (Part 3), extruded aluminum Louver Blades (Part 4) are installed horizontally into .062" thick x .865" wide Louver Plates (Part 5) at each side, then into side rails or mullion; a continuous extruded aluminum Male Hinge (Part t9), installed using 3/16" pop rivets spaced at 6" o.c. fro ,nt and back over the top rail, engages the continuous Female Hinge (Part 10) which is anchored to the wall; and a continuous "h" Track (Part 7) fastened using 3/16" pop rivets spaced at 6" o.c. front and back to the bottom rail and, when the shutter is swung closed, is secured , using 1/4 " -20 machine bolt or studs and nut, to either a 3" x 3" x 1/8" Plate (Part 8) anchored directly to the wall or to a set of aluminum angles anchored also to the wall and providing a build out. LIMITATIONS 3.1 The design will be dependent on the maximum louver blade single (horizontal) span of 19 1/8" between louver plates, at the panel width and a maximum panel (vertical) height of 73 1/2" or 6'- 1 1/2 ".
