corrosion anywhere. If you can see rust or damage follow the steps
below to stop the corrosion or replace the pole if necessary.
POLE CARE and MAINTENANCE
Check your pole system twice a year for signs of
Your Huffy pole system has been engineered and manufactured of high quality steel tubing. Each
pole section has been individually powder coated for quality and durability.
The life of your basketball pole depends on many conditions. The climate, placement of the pole, the
location of the pole, exposure to corrosives such as pesticides, herbicides or salts are all important.
The instructions below explain how to make your basketball pole system last longer and how to avoid
sudden pole failure which may cause property damage or severe personal injury.
1. KEEP ALL ORGANIC MATERIAL AWAY FROM POLE BASE (grass, weeds, leaves, fitter).
2. Locate areas on pole that have chipped paint or visible rust.
3. Using sand paper or emery cloth, remove rust and loose paint completely
from affected area.
4. IF RUST HAS PENETRATED COMPLETELY THROUGH THE POLE ANYWHERE -
REPLACE THE POLE I
5. Clean the affected area with a damp cloth and allow to dry.
6. Apply an exterior enamel primer to the affected area and allow to dry.
7. Apply two coats of high gloss black enamel paint to the area, allowing paint
to dry between coats. See instructions on paint con for more details.
