It was purchased by Hansford Tyler in 1926. Mr. Tyler was a vice presi- dent of the Hill Motor Car Company. Mrs. Tyler wrote a. book on local history, This, Too; Can Happen in Miami, published in 1956. The home remains in the Tyler family today. Noteworthy features include a large arched window on the front projecting mass (S) and an open bay porch along the front of the W mass.. The builder, James Markley, built several prominent Miami Shores structures in the 1920s and 1930s. It is in scale and character with the surrounding neighborhood. The W wing of the.T is fronted on the S by a porch with arched bays and wrought iron grillwork. Detached garage in rear (N) was added in 1926. Some windows in rear have been replaced by aluminum awning or jalousie but cannot be seen from street.
