E. 94 Street Miami Shores, Florida On the morning of June 19, 1996, while performing an inspection I noted the two car garage had been enclosed. I spoke to the owner Mr. Gerard Fabius. He informed me they had removed the two garage doors and had blocked up the two openings. It was also noted at this time the walled in atrium on the front of the house had also been roofed in and skylights installed. Mr. Gerard Fabius also stated at this time they had removed a large tree from the atrium and framed in the roof opening and installed the sky lights. Upon checking the files in the Building Department it was found there had been no permits issued for any of the work which had been performed. In order to enclose the garage approval must first be obtained from the Planning and Zoning Board. Neither this nor any permits were obtained. On this same date I requested that Code Compliance Officer Richard Trumble issue a Notice of Violation to the owners for having performed construction without first obtaining the necessary building permits as required by code.
